While it may not indicate a problem now when the baby boomers have the cash it could switch rapidly as the population bubble and cash disappears.

The baby boomers are not paying $190 to scale their way to the top of a stadium.

I know at Georgia, the students have to pay for parking at their dorms, and then have to move their cars on game day so fans can park semi-near the stadium. My daughter forgot to move her car one weekend and had it towed.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm still buying them

My mom refuses too now. She had season tickets for years but they got too expensive now she won't do it. I do take her to a game once a year but I pay. She has paid for enough in my life she deserves a treat. I just made my mom sound like a puppy at the end there.

Same story here. Except it was during the Jim Donnan years, so my parents weren't getting their money's worth for the entertainment either. But they gave up as prices and hassle kept getting higher and higher.

I like the baby boomer angle.

When the boomers start dying off, there aren't going to be millions of upper middle class alumni to pay thousands of dollars for seats, and these schools are going to be shucked at fudpuckers for their greed.

Poor people complaining. Here is what is expected of the poor fans. Continue to support your team by buying tee shirts and ball caps at Wal-Mart. Every now and then a more wealthy relative or friend will throw you a pair of tickets to a game they don't want to go to. Of course you will still bitch about the gas it took to drive to the game and the $20 it cost you to park. Just lay off the PBR for a couple of weeks to make up for it.

I'm a Razorback season ticket holder and I live in the Carolinas. Travel to many away games as well. You cannot beat the SEC game day experience (minus Vandy), which is something you can't get watching your 60in TV on the couch in your trailer.

BTW, don't forget to continue to make your payments on that TV, otherwise Aaron's Lease to Own will repossess it.

To be honest, I have found that I enjoy jut going and tailgating all day. I have a tv to watch not just our game but every game all day. I don't have to pay a ticket price, and I get all the atmosphere to boot.

I don't like going to the non-rivalry games as much. All of these dinky opponents make me more likely to stay away.

Okay, except for the occasional baller like nchawg the reality for most of us commoners is that when money gets lean playtime is the first to get the axe. During the Mike Shula years my family of 4 went to 3 or 4 games a season. Under Saban we catch 1. It's usually a Devry, ITT Tech or an Arkansas. You know, just the crap teams. The LSU's, aTm's are priced out of my working mans league. But I'll take 1 a year and National Titles over being the SEC punching bag any day. A fool and his money are soon parted and anyone throwing their's away on season tickets to that abomination that's called Arkansas football wont have theirs long.

There is a lot of bitching and moaning about cupcake games.
If you follow recruiting, these are the best games to see the superstars of tomorrow get their first taste of SEC action.
It is funny to me to see all the same people brag about signing a 4 star stud complain about the very games he gets to make an impact.

The alternatives to cupcake games are home and homes. And even then, you aren't guaranteeing a competive game (ie. Ole Miss or Miss St is never circled on our schedule as a big must see home game).

It's football. Quitchabitchin. Go to the games or don't.

So there is a chance you will be at the Arkansas game in Tuscaloosa this year. Just because you got your associates degree in waste management from a Devry or ITT Tech doesn't mean you have to see those games. I would encourage you to go the Arkansas/Bama game instead. Come by my tailgating spot and I'll hook you up with some food and drinks.

Been a donor and season ticket holder for years. We have good years and bad ones. It is just how it goes. I'm not going to quit supporting my team just because of a bad run. Plus, I got pretty good investment skilz y'all. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine and having fun at games for years to come.

1993 graduate of "The" University of Alabama and I have been to the BAMA Ark game many times. And many times I have seen you guys tuck your cork screwed tail between your legs and squeal all the way back to the Ozarks. You sound like new money nchawg. Can't hide those hillbilly roots can you? Keep your chin up through these "bad times" that y'all are going through right now.

Their kids will probably fill in the gap, but given the lousy economy of the past 5-6 years, their impact won't be as big due to prioritizing expenses.
