No SEC team is getting in the playoffs with 2 losses. Ole Miss is done. LSU is done too.

Besides, LSU can't win the thing with that offense. Maybe a year away but not yet ready.

We would blow out any non SEC top ten with that offense. Not one single team has the DL to stop our O-line. The same could be said about Bama and MSU. Non of the other top ten teams are built to stop that kind of running game.

Speculation in these matters is entertaining for starters, and it is hard to recall such a drastic swing of the pendulum in such a short period. A month ago, even the most optimistic LSU fans were praying for 7 wins to avoid the 'death' of a season.

Florida seemed like life support, Kentucky felt like rehab, and Ole Miss akin to the doctor's release to get back to work. Personally, I prefer cautious optimism and will only concede that our chance of success against Alabama is exponentially greater than a few weeks ago and that 9 regular season wins is an amazing prospect considering the start of LSU's '14 SEC campaign.

In order for this to happen Mississippi State would have to lose to Vanderbilt. think about that. How far outside is outside?

Absolutely. LSU has shown tremendous improvement in the last few weeks. One would almost say...amazing. Kudos. Makes 2015 look VERY promising considering how young your team is.

Its discussion. Scenarios are fun to break down and you learn the ins and outs of tie breaker rules of your conference. Even if we win out, still unlikely all the chips fall. But seeing most of us are not only just LSU fans but college football fans, I see nothing wrong with discussing who we may think ends up in the sec title game and who we think deserves to be in top 4. Heaven forbid we actually talk football on an LSU message board.

Also gives us a vested interest in the other games. That's only good for the sec. More people tuning in cus they want to see if bama beats state, or if uga beats auburn, Ole miss beats state, etc.

This. All of it.

Probably said the same thing about the Ole Miss game. No way we could score enough to keep up with that offense

Actually no. I think Vanderbilt beating Mississippi State would be a MUCH bigger upset. However, I am not sayig we have a shot at winning the SEC like LSU fans are....and I would say we have a stronger shot at it.

You could win. Don't think you would blow out, though.

No, I think State would just have to lose to Bama and in the Egg Bowl.

LSU would win any 3-4 team tie-breaker not involving Auburn.

So come on, UGA, beat Auburn!

wrong

Well, let's take a look at it. You have lost two SEC games. Mississippi has lost none. Mississippi State holds the tie breaker because they beat you. That means hey would have to lose three games. They only have three games left, and one of those is with Vanderbilt.

Now, I COULD be wrong. I've been known to use faulty logic before. Please show me where I am wrong in this scenario? I'm not trolling. I've been amazed at the turnaround LSU has made.

Certainly, I haven't studied the ins and outs of ALL the tie breakers....so perhaps you are right.

We'll do our best to help it along. We play best against good competition. We seem to struggle against teams that are down. Although, Florida seems to have made an impressive turnaround, too....or at least we made it look impressive!

Nice. It's just another dream that Alabama will bust on Saturday. Why do LSU folks build their hopes up so high every year before the Alabama game? Do y'all actually enjoy having them obliterated by The Tide?

Well....you guys haven't exactly looked unbeatable (outside of the A&M game)this year, and you DO have the toughest part of your schedule coming up.....soooo...I would think they can be at least a little confident.
