The rest of the ACC or B12 would be most upset. They'd be on the verge of losing their golden ticket to the playoffs with conference collapse on the horizon.

Answer: The SEC.

Upset?

FSU would still have to play us, and also have to play A&M, Bama, South Carolina, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, etc..

I'd be ecstatic

Sure, A&M would like it the least. Won't happen for a number of reasons.

In general, texass only wins when they have a lot more talent on their side of the ball. In Big 12 the only team with similar physical talent has been OU.. and then A&M. OU has 7 Big 12 titles, Texass has 3 (1 of them was a 3 way tie). Can anyone in the SEC rant imagine if LSU, BAMA, had texass schedule right now year in and year out. OU, Okie St, and for now Baylor are the only tough games on the schedule. The OU game is the only one with similar athletes.

Texass would never ever consider adding LSU, BAMA, A&M, Auburn, etc... to their schedule since they will not be able to get out of the OU series. They already lost the annual A&M game and losing the OU game would be another PR disaster among the fanbase.

The biggest reason texass won't join the SEC is their psyche requires that they be the big fish in the pond. SEC is loaded with big fish, and big influence. Texass will not come to the table if they don't have a lot of say.

TV - Not sure the SEC benefits much from TV by adding texass. Highest TV rankings for A&M are in the Austin area already.

LHN - SEC will not accept this. Texass will have to admit this was a bad idea from the beginning. They don't like to admit they were wrong. Their fanbase knows it.

Superiority complex - They consider SEC below them academically and intellectually. If they do anything it will be with the PAC.

They painted themselves into quite a corner...

Meh, Texas will be really good again someday. SEC or not there is nothing we Aggies can do to stop it. I don't think their conference is in their way, but if it is hello PAC (before SEC).

What would piss me off is giving OU a liferaft. They are the ones STUCK in a bad conference position, suck having Aggie turn back all those recruiting advantages they cheated to build up for decades.

When A&M grew up as a school we learned we couldn't be the FSU of Texas because OU took that place before we admitted women. Sooners indeed.

So we moved over to the big boy table to carve out a new place. Worst thing would be the SEC giving them a seat at our new table based on their stolen history (because they sure don't bring many SEC Network viewers in that state).

I'd add UTx Austin if it meant OU would never be invited

Exactly. Texas will pay for relevance if they have to. Saban didn't take the bait, but after Strong fails someone like Meyer or Miles will hang themselves by that golden noose. That means outside of conference they can be relevant.

But OU has a national title winning coach still and no recruit below the red river really gives a shite anymore. They have to peddle their brand in Cali to get top 20 classes, which dries up after Stoops is gone.

One bad hire after Stoops for OU, (since they can't afford to just hire away a SEC coach and guarantee success like Texas can) and they are buried for the rest of the GOR.
