Until he can throw a pass accurately past 10 yards, the Heisman talk needs to be canned. He is nothing more than a glorified RB that can throw a swing pass when needed. 7-5 probable with 8-4 as the ceiling.

Based on what exactly? Ole Miss has more depth and talent than LSU right now. Yes, that includes QB.

Road teams don't win Egg Bowls.

I think State ends up 7-5 next year. They will pick off someone they shouldn't. Not enough talent returning to do what they did last year, but enough that they could knock off someone.

Ole Miss will have a good team - but unfavorable trips to Tuscaloosa and Auburn and Starkville might make their ceiling 9-3.

I'll say what I've said for the past several seasons. Ole Miss's ceiling is 9 regular season wins.

It was true in 2003, it was true in 2009, and it was true last year too.

It'll be true this year.

Does anyone really "win" an egg bowl? The qualifications necessary to play in one already put you behind the 8-ball.

There is a bit of truth to this, but there is no reason to write off a team merely because they are playing on the road. Everyone knows y'all are gonna bring it for the Egg Bowl, mayne; there is no reason to say it's because of home field advantage when y'all are a talented team who will be royally pissed off.

For the record, since the game was moved from Jackson in 1991, Ole Miss is 3-9 in Starkville and Mississippi State is 4-8 in Oxford.

Agreed.

If we start off 7-0, meaning we beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, we can make a legitimate run for the SEC West, barring catastrophic injuries or some unforeseen circumstances.

The back half of our schedule is a gauntlet.

Oct. 17, at Memphis
Oct. 24, Texas A&M
Oct. 31, at Auburn
Nov. 7, Arkansas
Nov. 21, LSU
Nov. 28, at Mississippi State

Really, if that happened, it would take something on the order of scoring only 7 points in the biggest game of the year followed by having your best player going in for a go ahead touchdown in another game, but instead fumbling the game away on a season ending injury to derail that kind of momentum. Those kind of things are so rare, you guys will be good as gold.

They finished ranked 25th in AP in 2014? No reason to list them at all... Especially since it is at their house.

I did because they are on the back half of our schedule.

I know they play in the AAC, but Memphis did win ten games and finish ranked the AP poll in 2014. They return 11/22 starters, according to Phil Steele so they should take a step back this season.

that was also the first time in the history of football that they finished ranked. Not a made up statistic, either. They will not be good next year.

It should not and will not be a tough game for Ole Miss.

Plus, they are Memphis so you guys should trounce them no matter if they returned everyone.

Which is well and good, but the gauntlet starts after Memphis IMO.
