This is literally probably the best literary work to come out of the state of Alabama. Harper Lee, is that you?

This is every bit as unfunny as the OP, just so you know...
cyde, I know that. Just having 'fun' like he was.
Also, those names I made up make about as much sense for Bama as the monstrously erroneous 'nickname' for LSU that belongs in Iowa or Nebraska where the Auburn fan cut and pasted it from..........
Come to think of it, it is ironically hilarious that some of you have embraced this name that was started by one of your arch-enemy fans....

surely you realize how stupid this comment is. it even isn't funny anymore. the auburn dipstick that copied this from iowa or Nebraska didn't even dream that dumbshits would pick it up and embrace it. maybe you should show some initiative and make up your own irrelevant characteristic of LSU fans.

Yeah, I know. Same with fanbases other than Auburn who call us "bammers".

Actually, Louisiana doesn't even grow corn.
We actually grow a lot of rice, some tobacco and cotton and coffee beans. Also, Louisiana is the second largest seafood exporter in the world, AND it is highly regulated (even before Deepwater Horizon).
I feel sorry for Mr. and Mrs Chet Uppington-Smythe who don't trust La. seafood, but will eat totally UNGREGULATED filthy seafood from Thailand and Vietnam.
And our Port of New Orleans, one of the largest in the world, supplies the entire American heartland with foodstuffs, goods, and petroleum that, if it were to stop, would cripple this country.........

Wait, Western Carolina is known as the 'Corndogs'?
What a strange coincidence.

Never understood that one either. Although I don't see it as particularly offensive, I never understood its meaning. I never knew Auburn fans called y'all that....wonder if that emanated from 'barners' ??

I think you're right about bammers being a knockoff of barners.
Gump makes far more sense because of (a) the movie tie-in and (b) that's also a nickname for the state capitol of Montgomery.
As far as corndogs go, I don't see why someone would use it as an offensive term. Seriously, what male in the south didn't grow up loving corn dogs?

True
I mean I've eaten them before. I am just puzzled at how an Iowa or Nebraska staple somehow got tied to a fanbase that has the best food on earth; not just for tailgating, but OMG - NOLA, the Quarter, Cajun Country, etc.
