My first was Archie Manning, but I remember others from other schools when I was young that I liked in early 70s such as Condredge Holloway at Tennessee, Wilbur Jackson at Alabama and Bert Jones at LSU.

I met Bo Jackson at Dr. Lemacs office in Birmingham. I knew he was an Auburn guy but he was really nice. He asked me for my autograph after he gave me his and later sent some stuff to my house. I was only 9 or 10 at the time. Several years later I got to hunt with him. He will always be one of my favorites even though he chose the wrong school.

Bo Jackson. My dad was a huge fan of his so naturally I gravitated towards him when I was a kid.

No one that I'm sure anyone remembers but for Alabama Ricky Tucker. He lived behind us in Florence when lived there. He was a strong safety. Played in 1977-1980.
He would call me sometimes when he was home. I got to meet several of the defensive players as he would sometimes bring some home with him.
Was an awesome thing for a 8yr old kid. Also, the Bama football team played the Bradshaw High School team and I got to be the football teams manager.
That's was when I really started following Alabama football.

I was a huge Michael Clayton fan as a kid. Playing neighborhood ball I was always him or Joe Horn even though I bare more of a resemblance to Wes Welker.
