I vaguely remember a short documentary/interview with the coach saying something about his heart and stress from coaching at UF. Apparently, this was his main reason for stepping down.

Legitimate reason to do so IMO, but why turn around a couple years later and start doing it again. Either he was lying about the condition, or he was looking for an easier way to sustain success (outside the sec).

Idk story doesn't add up to me

Why is Finebaum not on the SEC network?

You can't blame him. See Bowden, Bobby.
Stoops was coming off a disappointing 7-5 year at OU. We could've hired him after Meyer's swan song in the Sugar again Cincy. And yeah, make fun of "Big Game" Bob all you want but he sure as hell would've worked out better for us than Muschamp.

My only beef was how he handled his "retirement" between the SECCG and the bowls because we would've had a legitimate shot at Bob Stoops. Sticking around in 2010 hurt.

What is Foley's beef with Merlins? Twice now he's passed on bringing him in. Not a fan of Merlins, but he's doing good things at MooState.

Aren't they doing the 24 hour school days for all the SEC teams? I think today is UF's day so all SEC regular broadcasting is on a break.

I was wondering because the main network is showing a softball repeat, and the alternate says Paul Finbaum on the guide, but its off the air.

Foley didn't even consider him before hiring Muschamp.

I think he's a dang good coach. I think the problems he has been having in recent times is more of a geographical/market share thing than his coaching.

I think he could fare quite well at a powerhouse SEC school that would help him attract top tier talent.

Charlie Strong talked about how bad the pressure was during that 09 season (and he was only dc). "We won over 20 games in a row and yet were having no fun at all."
but why? I'd love to know what really went on behind the scenes.

Saban and Meyer could've still been going at it. ESPN 30 for 30 perhaps.

I think Meyer has to prove that he can coach a consistent program without the bottom falling out

38-3 with no end in sight but I understand your point. Personally I think he's in the right place to do this.

Should be 40-3 because of the bs postseason ban.

2009 Sucked balls because we were number 1 all year and couldn't beat the shite out of anyone because Meyer had gotten so fricking conservative on offense. There were too many teams still in the game in the 4th quarter. That is Ohio State football not Florida football and the fans don't like it. 2009 sucked. Boring arse big 10 football.
