Erik Ainge was awful at first. He ended up being pretty good his senior year

He was good as a freshman. Terrible as a sophomore. Very solid under Cutcliffe his jr and sr years.

He was great as a Freshman until he got hurt (Brent Schaefer too), terrible sophomore year, pretty good junior and senior years.

He still stealing from his grandparents in order to gobble percocets all day? Boy, nothing but role models up there in Knoxville. Truly a "God first" institution

A drug dealer, a guy I knew, had them. There were other social, party drugs I would do, but I was addicted to painkillers." Said Ainge, 24

Ainge is currently having problems understanding that you can't get drunk and drive a vehicle...the same lesson that Jevon Snead learned a few years ago.

you know LSU did this too right?

Hint: we were 4-7 in 1998, 3-8 in 1999, and won the SEC in 2001.

The ones producing the hype are the "experts" and all their preseason lists and articles

And the Tennessee fans constantly posting said lists and articles in typical "look, people who look at teams for a living think we're going to be good, so we are going to be good" fashion.

Serraneaux posts a link to an article, quotes it in his OP, and people freak out on him and all UT fans and act like every single UT poster has said word-for-word "UT will win the Natty this year." It's not our fault

You jackass retard. Your record in 2000 was 8-4. That equates to a steady increase every year. You totally spun 4 years so you could be right about something trivial. Why would you not just use auburn's rise to greatness? You had to make something up. More sorry tigers...

I don't call going from 3-8 in 1999 to a conference title in 2 years a steady rise. That's pretty drastic. You sound pretty upset about it, though, for whatever reason

I am a non believer. I have to remind UT fans that Peyton was 0-3 against UF....Dobbs aint Peyton.

After UF, UGA, Mizzou, Bama & the OOC team looming take turns with UT and bitchslap Jones a few times he will begin to question why he left Cincy and the grumbling will start in Knoxvegas.

They are getting there. You have to have the attention span of a mayfly to think that a team that hasn't recruited well can just simply turn into a ten win team in the SEC.

Auburn did it because they had great recruits once they ditched their useless HC. Otherwise? It is going to take some time to get it done. The Vols seem to be right on schedule.

Do they make the playoffs this year? Well not unless their QB is a God among men. But 8 wins in the regular season, a good bowl matchup, and a strong recruiting class puts them in a really nice spot going forward.

^This. 8-9 wins, a good bowl, and good setup for 2016. We have the ability to make noise this year but our youth and lack of depth at key spots will likely hold us back from going beyond 8-9 wins.
