Yeah, I picked up on some of that. But the "we're not rivals" isn't just an A&M/Texas thing.

Exactly. Texas will say OU to piss us off (and it works), and we now say LSU in front of them to get them pissed off (also works) even though we both know it isn't true

I can understand that. Not to mention, since y'all cut ties things have been amazing for A&M. Got a Heisman winner, 11 win season and top 5 recruiting class in just two years after the separation.

Right. A&M plays LSU, AU, UA, etc every year, a lot more big TV games. UT needs A&M more than visa vera, for sure.

Texas will always be our rival. DUH. Look at message boards for both schools and chatter is incessant about one another. We compete for the same recruits, and share workplace proximity with them all over the state.
Like I said, it's all rhetoric.

which is why we will sadly play Tech or TCU before we schedule the sips again.
Baylor will never happen so long as Ken Starr is there and if it ever returns I'm guessing it will be a one off in somewhere like San Antonio or Houston.

We got a little taste of it last year when we got some defensive tackle from Texas. It was an Ole Miss, Texas battle and when he committed to us they flipped the frick out and said that there was no other explanation than that we were paying him. It was a 3* and they were losing their minds.

Yup.
Texas would benefit from the exposure and (occasionally) validation if and when they beat us. Far easier to get up for a strong opponent and perhaps pull an upset when you have a weak conference slate. The game would essentially be a life raft for them.
And if all the "We're Texas," talk from them is to be believed, they don't need little ol' aggy anyway, so frick 'em.

They are borderline apoplectic right now with the way Sumlin is flipping texas recruits left and right.

Yeah imagine dealing with this all the time. It's a joy. Many of their fans are like that in real life too.
