Must be nominated by fans of said team.

On behalf of Tiger Nation, let me nominate Matt House and the bend and break defense which is currently 12th in the SEC and more impressively 110 or something like that in the nation on 3rd down conversions.

So for example Ole Miss, if we stuff you on a first down run, you throw an incompletion and it’s 3rd and 13th or something, you actually have a 76 % chance of success. It’s called 3rd and House.

Durkin and it’s not close.

Only Bama and Georgia have equal talent.

And it’s night and day between those teams and the execution of A&M.

Matt is actually a very good DC with a bad hand at the moment. I will admit he is somewhat overcomplicating his scheme but he isn’t close to the worst DC in the conference.

Draco, my problem with him is that he is trying to fit square pegs into round holes. We don’t have the personal to run his scheme well right now, everyone can see this but he will not adjust.

I remember the legendary high school coach Kenny Guilliot at Parkview being ask why he didn’t run some type of new offense or something, and he patiently explained that system was definitely better than what they were running but the system they were running was by that far the best one for the talent he had that year. (They won another State Championship)

Kenny also had a top 10 offense like every single year he was a college OC for that same reason, he wasn’t married to a particular philosophy just ran what worked best for his personal. If he great QB and receivers he would throw it, big dominant line and running backs they would run more. He was flexible just like his ole buddy Nick Saban ended up being.

That’s my complaint with him. He can’t run his system with these guys, he needs to at least tweak it

My take is the head coach has said the best way for us to win games is he’d rather the defense bend and sometimes don’t break than risk getting completely torched because we have a beastly offense and want to maximize their opportunities and win games that way. So House is giving his boss what he wants.

I agree with him by the way.

If not for Miss St, we're probably dead last in the country.

Ole Miss is going to score 40

Yes but we’ve also played 3 power 5 teams instead of 2 like most people so I think it balances out.

He’s no longer our DC but I’m still going to say Pete Golding.

I'm removing his name from the list. After a good run of about 9 years, Ole Miss finally doesn't have the worst defense in the nation nor do we have the worst defense in the SEC. It's a hell of an improvement.

I want to agree that House is the answer.

But…Saturday I watched Ole Miss get steamrolled by a team that doesn’t have a QB. So is it possible that their DC, whoever he is, is the real right answer?

Please…if Ole Miss fans know anything, it’s bad defense…our guy was the worst 3rd down D coordinator when he was coaching NFL players at Alabama…imagine what it’s like now.

If Matt House is bend-dot ‘t-break, what do you call Arkansas’ situation?

Up until last weekend I would have said Durkin. But his defense flat arse shut down Auburn last weekend especially in the second half. Leaving us with even more questions. Is Auburn that bad? Is the Aggie defense finally starting to play up to its potential? Or was that just a lucky day?
