pathetic backs

All viewed better than Crockett by analysts. Not just people on the rant, but people who actually get paid to do this.
quote:

Chubb (5.0),

1st season back from injury. He literally tore every ligament in his knee except his ACL, and he was running behind the worst OL we have had in years. Not bad if you ask me. The season he got injured he was AVG 8.1 YPC, and his freshman year he AVG 7.1 YPC.

quote:

Webb (5.1),

Running behind Vandy's OL. That is the same situation with Chubb.

quote:

Pettway (5.9),

I really HATE taking up for ANYTHING Auburn, but you are crazy if you think Crockett is better than Pettway.

The other main difference between these RB's and Crockett is the simple fact of Y'all had a QB that could keep opposing teams on there toes. UGA, Vandy, and Auburn didn't. I would take Chubb, Webb, Pettway, Guice on my team before I took Crockett.

The OL was actually pretty good last year. It wasn't amazing, but I wouldn't use it as crutch for Webb. Although, I do still agree with your final point.

Didn't look up stats. Just an assumption.

I think either Tyshon Williams or Bryson Allen Williams for the Gamecocks maybe.

Not to mention for Pettway, his YPC dropped because of the last two games vs Bama and Oklahoma. Not only did he play injured vs those two, but his QB was also injured completely taking away the threat of pass. Especially Bama where he was noticeably gimpy and limping and White didn't play at all leaving Jeremy Johnson and John Franklin as QBs.

Before those two games Pettway averaged 6.5 ypc

Pettway also only played 9 games that season. Didn't play in the opener vs Clemson. But he also didn't play vs Louisana-Monroe, Alabama A&M, and Georiga, so he missed the chance to pad his stats against a couple of scrubs like most backs get.

The only scrub he played against was Arkansas State which was the first of the season. Take away that game, and the last two against Bama and OU and during a stretch of 6 games against only SEC opponents Pettway averaged 159 yards per game for 954 yards. That's pretty fricking impressive.

Of the 5 top rushing defenses Auburn played, Pettway didn't play against 2 of them (Clemson/UGA), you want to disregard 2 (Bama/OU) and he only got 61 against the other, but you still talk about "how fricking impressive" he was? Classic Auburn fan.

ETA: his best games were against the 120, 94, 80, 70 rushing defenses in the country (all SEC teams)

John Kelly, RB. I think he'll be a household name by season's end.

Trevor Daniel is another one... He's one of the best punters in college football.

Dominick Sanders, 2015 1st team ALL-SEC. He didn't get mentioned for any preseason watch lists and he's a Senior.

As far as newest recruit/signee- RB Brian Robinson from Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa. The kid is explosive, one step and get downhill FAST!! He is an afterthought when you consider Bo Scarbrough, Najee Harris, and Josh Jacobs.

Guys that have been contributors but get shuffled to the back- RB Damien Harris-1,000+ yard rusher 7.2 ypc and DB Anthony Averett!

A guy just about no one is talking about on Auburn's roster is RS freshman Nick Coe. I think he is going to start off playing DE but is big enough to play inside...he's made a big impression this off-season...is also the former heavyweight national champion wrestler and has a similar story to Michael Oher. And just look at that face...between him and Marlon Davidson, they've got the market cornered on goofy. I don't know what relevance that has except they probably got picked on as kids and are still pissed

Marlon Davidson:

Leading rusher last year with the best ypc (7.2) and nobody ever mentions him.

Dontravious Russell for AU. Guy is set the be a third year starter at NT but never gets any pub, even from AU fans. He has been a rock for our DL and allowed Montravious Adams to play against less double teams the last couple years.

Kirk

Sure he's preseason All American at WR & PR, but really he should be the Heisman frontrunner.
