uh, it means it's a more important game to the public nationally than any other BCS game, so yes

uh, i think the west coast has got the south in population hence better ratings. so no. Rose Bowl is a joke. It's half the bowl game it used to be.

USC isn't exactly intimidating this year either They seem very similar to me this year actually.

Let us know when Florida or LSU loses a home conference game to a team they are a 41 pt favorite over. Thanks ! ....and won a rose bowl you can't compare in terms of consistancy or BCS bowl record. Sorry. simply a fact. I know SEC fans don't like it

Michigan, Illinois, Penn State? The Rose Bowl is barely tougher than winning the Cap One Bowl every January. C'mon man, you just took a shot at Florida for losing a tight game with the Big Ten Runner up that had the same players that USC beat in one of those grand BCS Rose Bowls you guys pad your legacy with. SC has FEASTED off of Big Ten teams in 90% of it's "Big Games". LSU beat the HELL out of virtually the same ND team in the Sugar Bowl that SC struggled with. Tit for tat. I'm not taking shots at SC, but I had to call you out for that hypocrisy. SC is most definitely not dismissible in this argument, but my argument for UF or LSU would include SEC strength and the ridiculously hostile environments we play in every single week. I still have much respect for SC, but 7 straight Pac Ten titles does not equate to 7 straight SEC's if SC played down here.

Look ... I want to beat USC's arse as much as the next Tiger fan, but we can't honestly say they haven't been one of the top 3 teams of the last 6-7 years.

I agree that the PAC-10 is weaker overall than the SEC, but they make up for it by scheduling tougher OOC opponents.

In our infinite awesomeness, we could easily have lost to Oregon State, Arizona State, and Washington since 2004. We did spank some Arizona butt a couple of times, but so did a lot of other schools.

I would painfully say, from 2003 to present:
USC
LSU
Florida

... but it's close.

I agree with some others that if one of these teams wins it all in '09, they are solidly #1 among the 3.

Jesus, I wish LA would get it's own professional football team so ABC/ESPN would have more to cover in LA. Like someone said, ya think population and size of schools that make up the Big Ten and Cali have ANYTHING to do with the "importance" of this game?

If you go by Strength of Schedule since 2000, wins vs top 25 teams, and bowl record, then LSU gets the slight edge over USC and Florida.

Whoever among the three wins the BCS title this year ends the debate for good and all.

Link me or show me stats Tiger's Gold that's the info I'm looking for.

Where we are now:

Me: That being said, if you let Florida or LSU play USC's and vice versa I would guarantee you both schools would have more than the 1 BCS championship USC has.....

USC Tool:
I guarantee you they wouldn't. Actually, I guarantee that USC would have MORE national titles had they played in the SEC, because they would have benefitted from the Myth of the SEC in the BCS rankings and not gotten jobbed out of a few more title games.

I never understand these arguments that leave out the not so rosie parts of a decade. 2000 and 2001 happened for USC, even if they don't like it. LSU and Florida has been just as consistent. Its not fair to bring up LSU's 2008 season, or Florida's 2003 season, if you're going to forget 2000 and 2001 for USC.
