From recent history, Barrett Trotter and Tim and Simeon Castille (Tim was an absolute beast in high school).

There are a couple famous alumni that I know from mine.

Tuscaloosa County High School

1. Frank Lary (Nicknamed the Yankee Killer)

2. LeRon McClain

3. Lurleen Wallace

First and only woman governor of Alabama when she succeeded her late husband George Wallace

4. Lee Evans (my cousin) - I wouldn't say nationally famous, but locally he would be.

Drafted straight from high school as a catcher by the Pittsburg Pirates. Never made it to the show, but ended up in Braves Triple A when he and his wife decided to move back to Tuscaloosa to start a family.

There may be more but these are the ones that I know off the top of my head.

football:

Josh Scobee has been the kicker for the Jags for 6 years now; we were friends in HS

Bobby Taylor - DB for the Eagles most of his career, had a few pro-bowls

Trent Williams - OT at OU, drafted by the Redskins last year

he was voted "most handsome in class", so he probably did pretty well even back them. but a better story (told to me by someone who graduated with him) is that he drilled a hole in the floor of his beater truck so he could spit his dip onto the road below while driving around.

I don't think my high school produced any major sports stars, but we do claim Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-a as an alum (class of 1939).
