In light of the football building Knight is building for Oregon.

I'm pretty sure its Jim Haslam for UT.

I'd actually be curious to see from an AU guy in the know who it is now. McWhorter?

It's Lowder.

I didn't even know who this guy was two weeks ago and I even know the answer to this question.

For Arkansas, theirs a number of them.

Jerry Jones
John Tyson (chicken man)
Jim Lindsey
Jack Stephens
The Waltons
There are a few more I'm forgetting.

Lowder supposedly took a big hit when Colonial went south. Don't know what his pockets look like now.

Well he was before the demise of his bank.

ESPN called him the most powerful booster in the nation, so I figure he gives quite a bit to your school.

Paul Bryant, Jr. is our #1 money man.

I'm well aware of what Bobby Lowder used to do for our school, both good and bad. I don't believe he has anywhere near the power he used to.

He used to. You should really take a step back from quoting tuna's thread too much. It's been proven by sources to kill brain cells.

Well for AU there's Ginn, the entire school of engineering is named after him. Rane is a big deal too. Lowder sits on boards and stuff but that's because of his name and his daddy. His monetary sway is a lot less than it used to be since he screwed the pooch with Colonial.

Lowder lost something like 126 million when colonial went under. If thats not accurate its pretty close I think. It was like 20% of his net worth, so its not like he is broke now or anything. But I think YellaFella Rane is probably the big money guy down there now, maybe McWhorter. However both of those guys lost a shite ton in the colonial bank meltdown as well so im not 100% sure about that anymore.

At Alabama it's Paul Bryant Jr I'm pretty sure. Our guys dont make news headlines as often as Auburns does so im really not all that sure about it but I feel pretty confident about Jr being the top guy.

How did he make his money, is it solely off of his dad's name? Haslam gets his from Pilot.

Dude, the article was in 2006 written by an ESPN columnist.

I read the damn article on ESPN's website myself.

Please don't tell me what I do and don't know.

Thanks.
