LSU- 2011 Alabama.
Gets interesting after that. You might claim 2003 Oklahoma or 2001 Tennessee. You might go with 2007 Ohio St, just to stir crap up with the "Big 10 SUCKS" crowd. Heck, you could claim 2011 Oregon or 1997 Fla.

Here's a very interesting darkhorse contender, for both 2011 LSU and 2011 Alabama:
2011 Arkansas.
They got rolled by both LSU and Alabama, and so people forget them; but they were 11-2 and ranked #3 going into that Thanksgiving weekend. Think they finished around the top 5, despite playing 2 of the most dominant teams of the 21st century that year. Pretty sure they could have gone undefeated in other seasons, or in other conferences.

Does any LSU or Florida fan know how many nfl players were on those teams? I know all three had an absurd amount.

Have been on active 53 man roster at some point, got snaps in 2011 for LSU:

-Mett. QB.
-Ford RB.
-Ware. RB
-Blue. RB
-Magee*. RB. (UDFA 2015)
-Hilliard*. RB (6 rd pick 2015)
-Randle. WR
-Beckam WR
-Landry WR
-Shepard WR
-Wright WR
-Collins*. OL
-Mingo. DE
-Montgomery* DE
:3rd round pick but off the field
Issues have kept him from
Playing so far
-Edwards. DE
-Rasco*. DE (TBD)
-Logan. DT
-Brockers. DT
-Johnson. DT
-Ferguson. DT
-Minter. LB
-Barrow. LB
-Claiborne. CB
-Mathieu. CB
-Brooks. CB
-Simon. CB
-Reid. S
-Taylor. S

-Hill had to sit out 2011
-loston still has slim chance to make active roster
-some RS guys on that roster are already in league as well
- 2 career ending injuries in college for Oline starter from 2011, Faulk (ACL) and williford (concussions)

All this is off memory so maybe +/-
a few , but it looks like 23-28 players that took snaps for that team have been or will be on game day rosters in the NFL, lots of current NFL starters in that group as well.

Basically a future NFL squad minus QB starters (terrible) and OL (still a very good college unit).

I am surprised no Auburn fan has yet mentioned the 1989 Iron Bowl, the first played in Auburn. Alabama was 10-0 and ranked #2.

Putting aside my homerism for a minute:

The 1992 victory by Alabama over Miami is my favorite win ever by a team not named Auburn...

AU beat Florida in 2006 (NC Team)

Yes

Florida has lost at least one game in each championship year. In '96, we lost to FSU in the regular season, in '06 to Auburn, and '08 to Ole Miss.

Best teams Florida has beaten though would have to be

OU '08
Bama '08
OSU '06
LSU '03

That 89 Bama team may belong on the list, but we controlled that game for all but a few minutes in the second quarter and led by 3 scores in the 4th. There was just no way they were beating us.

I just called a friend in Atlanta. He has a brick ready for Bill Curry's next speaking engagement.

Yeah....the refs gave y'all the game when your receiver was clearly on his knees when he "flea-flicked" the ball to the guy who scored the TD....I'll never forget that one!

Yes, and scary weak mentally.

It also didn't help that almost every star player was injured at least once that season. Mark Ingram suffered a knee injury a week or two before the opening game of the season. Julio Jones played with a cracked bone in his hand for half the season. Dont'a Hightower still wasn't 100% recovered from the ACL injury he had suffered in the Arkansas game the previous year. Courtney Upshaw was injured for much of the year as was Marcell Dareus. Mark Barron injured himself in the Iron Bowl. Trent Richardson injured himself in the LSU game. Greg McElroy received a concussion in the Iron Bowl.

It was just crappy luck combined with an attitude that all we had to do was show up and we would win that cursed us in 2010. On paper we should have not only repeated as champions....we should have blown each opponent out of the water as well.

To hell with LSU and the ending of our 22 game winning streak in the 1966 Cotton Bowland cost us back to back national championships.

For us:
#1 LSU 2006
#1 Texas 1966
#1 Texas 1981
#2 OU 1978
#3 Tennessee 1999(that team finished with three losses, but was loaded with talent)
#2 UGA 1968

I can appreciate that. If you don't remember the play, google it and you'll be able to see it on a YouTube shot. I'll never forget looking at the still picture progression of the play in the B'ham News the next day. Stevie Wonder could have seen that the guy was down before he lateraled it.

09 team?
Then Tebow ha...

Do you know how many of those guys played snaps that yr and actually made active rosters? That's a crazy number if they actually played on Sundays vs just getting signed to practice squads
