Met him once outside of a bar in Birmingham. Was a super nice guy and bought me a beer.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe he tore his ACL punting one year? That has to be the only time that's happened in modern history.

I 2nd Terry Daniel. Don't know if the statistics bare it out but he certainly had the best season nobody saw.

I'm hoping that this guy will soon be considered the best "Punter" in UT history.

Probably Drew Butler, but you have to throw Bobby Walden, the Cairo (Kay-roe) Toe, in the mix, just b/c it's cool to say The Cairo Toe. Bobby was the punter on the great Steelers teams of the 70s.

Bill Smith was a two time AA and Jim Miller was AA once. I know Miller led the nation in punting one year. Not sure about Smith.

Daniel has the highest AU career punting average (44.51 yards) as well as the highest single season punting average (1993, 46.92 yards).

And the hang time on his punts was legendary, leading to the accusation by Sherrill of having helium in the footballs.

Terry Daniel >>>>> any and all other AU punters
