Kubiak is an interesting idea. He made his NFL career in eastern Texas, he's a very good defensive coach, he is a Super Bowl champion, and can pitch NFL success to recruits. I don't know if he will take a job though since he's had health issues, but A&M has the money to make it happen.
With Kubiaks health I don't see him going back to college if he does coach again. It would be tough on him having to do recruiting, events with boosters, and preparing his team. If he was healthy he'd still be coaching the broncos. I think he's done with football.

Unless Rumlin buys himself another season, I'd be shocked if Morris isn't the next Aggie coach. Morris would dominate Texas recruiting. I wish LSU would have rolled the dice with him instead of yaw yaw

If not Sumlin, Larry Fedora.

Kubiak is also an Aggie. Unless his health prevents him, he'd take the job.

Health issues aside, I don't think he would ever coach college. I once heard that he loathed recruiting.

Depends on your definition: Saban did it but Miami was in between.
If you're going to count that, then you might as well count Spurrier, too.
Most recent head coaches to move directly from one SEC school to another:
Nutt (Arkansas to Ole Miss)
Tuberville (Ole Miss to Auburn)
Curry (Alabama to Kentucky)
DiNardo (Vanderbilt to LSU)

They will hire Fedora who would be Sumlin lite

How Kubiak's offense translate to college anyway? He's spent his whole career working in the NFL and basically just implementing the offense he learned from Shanahan. From a recruiting standpoint, I'm sure he'd be a solid get but I just don't see a career NFL guy reworking his system to be feasible forcillege playrrs to learn.

Fedora would not be a terrible hire either.

Chip Kelly could dominate at A&M. Keep the Chief as the D coordinator, and they'll be legit.

Chief has been falling off lately. A&M actually had some talent on defense last year and they were still bad. If they do somehow get Kelly I think it'd be a better move to move on from Chavis.

I have heard this as well. I think he would have seriously considered it or taken it after he was let go by the Texans but I think after his stint in Denver, he is content with his coaching tenure. All of this is my personal speculation though

Kelly didn't do too well outside the PAC. He wouldn't build a team built for the SEC. Rumlin is there to stay. The aggies pay big bucks for mediocrity it's well known.

I agree with you on this. Kubiak has had his run. Does he really want to spend countless hours convincing 17 year old kids they want to come to his school? All while hoping he out recruits the behemoth of Alabama? With LSU squatting on prime recruiting ground and snapping up 5* recruits left and right?
A&M has the benefit of having a ton of talent in their recruiting footprint but they also have no great shortage of quality programs recruiting those same players. I would say Chip Kelly is the best bet on the board.
He has his flaws but he could probably put together a scary team at A&M.
Or... to put it this way... if you had to win a late season game with everything on the line... would you rather have Sumlin or Kelly?
I'd take Kelly thank you.

I'd rather have an empty headset than Sumlin.

Well... I can't argue with that.
