I imagine they'll see similar carry numbers, but who will make more out of them?

My votes on Mason.

This is mostly for the Auburn fans. Don't wanna start an argument or anything, just want your opinions. I'm sure by now some of you know that as hard as it is, I'm a Mason/Artis-Payne fan.

That's a great question.

I like what I saw out of CAP at the A-Day game. But that was, of course, just the A-Day game. How will he respond to SEC competition?

I already KNOW that Mason can play against SEC competition.

So, for now, I'll go with Mason.

I haven't even see Auburn's A-Day game, gonna look for it in a little bit, hopefully it's on youtube.

Who do you guys think will be the best fit in Gus' offense? Frazier, Johnson, Marshall, or Wallace? All seem to have potential in said offense, but if it's gonna work you need the best guy for the job.

Also, how do you see Corey Grant playing into the offense?

I am predicting Cam Artis-Payne, but I won't be mad if Mason proves me wrong.

Cam Artis-Payne will get his, don't sell him short. It will be a lot closer than you think.

Rumor is Gus is really high on CAP. He may end up being "the guy" this year, while Mason handles some of the outside running

Possibly. I could very well see both getting 1000 yards though, if the offense works right.

What do you see Corey Grant doing, and how much production on the ground are you expecting from the QB?

Marshall-Johnson-Wallace-Frazier

An adequate back-up.

Very little. He works his arse off, but I just don't see him getting much PT.

Assuming Marshall starts, probably a good bit. He's a dynamic runner, but still developing as a passer.

I think Grant will be in the Omac role and maybe catch a couple passes out of the backfield every game. I think Mason and Payne will get probably 85% of the carries and Grant will get sweeps, end arounds, etc. I think Gus and Lashlee are going to set him up for big plays. I think they'll find a way to get these three on the field.

QB, no matter who it is, is going to start out the season handing the ball off a lot. Lots of short passes to get comfortable and some designed runs, but I wouldn't be surprised if we run the ball at least 65% of the time in the first few games. I have to imagine Nick Marshall is the guy, so I can see quite a few designed runs if that's the case. Ease him in before we start bombing away with play action, if it gets to that point.

I think CAP becomes "the guy" by mid season. He could be really good.

Tre Mason, after getting 1000 yards in the dumpster fire that was auburn football last year, I see a huge year fr him.

As for Grant, I expect a LOT of slot receiver and maybe some kick return.

I think CAP has greater potential and will surpass Mason as the season progresses to be the "primary" back. But Mason runs insanely hard and has great heart. He was one of the guys last year that never quit and never stopped giving it all he had no matter how bad we were getting our arse kicked. Gotta love and respect that.

CAP impressed me the most at the end of the first half in our spring game. They ran him in one drive on every play. He looked great on all carries.

I think at times they can ride him if needed.

Both will do well and I am a huge Mason fan. He was one of the few players on our team that did not quit last year. But I think CAP will be the work horse.
