Even with the seven figure salary. Look what happened to the great Urban Meyer. I know you all would be willing but who here could honestly handle being a Butch Jones without going all Micael Jackson with the xanax bars?

I couldn't handle the stress, but I'd be very unsuccessful.

I would pull a Houston Nutt and just stop giving a shite

I could handle it if I had the backgorund and pedigree to have earned the job. If Alleve just came up and told me I was the head coach at LSU I probably couldn't handle it.

If I had the experience and background I'm sure I could handle it. I don't, bit if I did I'm sure I could.

I would be a CEO type coach. I'd pay the money to get a top flight OC, DC, QB, and ST coaches.
Then I'd stay the heck out of their way.

It seems that most of the blue bloods today hire recruiters first and foremost with football and schemes coming second. Works out most of the time.

I could handle the stress but I'd probably be fired in the same timeframe as Mike Price.

I hear ya. It goes without saying that my guys would all be recruiters. And I'd be behind them every step of the way.

Urban had some issues-- guy couldn't take imperfection, Saban's intense but I get the feeling he can probably relax at some point, Meyer-- at least Meyer at Florida let his work control his entire life to the point where in say 2009 it didn't seem like the team or the fan base were having fun despite having what would for all but 6 SEC schools have been the greatest season in their modern histories-- no one could relax until after the SECCG loss, then the team exhaled and played to potential again.
Hell, Meyer's downslide probably started with the dismissal and then subsequent death of Avery Atkins-- after that he was hesitant to kick people off the team permanently because he thought he could save them and it led him to let some stuff slide he never should have probably tolerated.

I agree. Urban is just the best example. Dude might be the best head coach in modern college football and the pressure at Florida took a serious toll on his health and happiness.

seems reasonable, and people wonder why the OBC wants to sneak a golf game in, not much room in the schedule but maybe with some golf and of course plenty of "jumbos" I could take it.

yea and those are among the first that other coaches will poach from your staff, not the great player coach, and even with the internet, to try and keep up with what 9 other coaches are doing plus twice that in support staff is a pretty big job alone.

Unlike Geauxld, who pays coaches,I'd pay money for top-flight players. I'd make SMU look like slackers.

He's not the best head coach in modern football. Not even close. He bolted because the sec was too tough. Let's not forget he lost to a terrible Va Tech team and played a shitty B1G schedule. He got hot but he could not make it year in and year out in the sec. Just a fact.

Seriously, I'd take home $500k, and buy the best assistants. I'd be smart enough to stay away from everything, and have massive performance bonuses in each coach's contact.
I would be great with clock management, and personnel management.
