Speaking of a QB named Allen, dude played injured last year.
But the numbers don’t tell the entire story of Brandon Allen’s 2013 season. Here is what the critics didn’t know: In the Southern Miss game he dove into the end zone and injured the AC joint in his shoulder. The following week junior college transfer AJ Derby started at quarterback in a 28-24 loss at Rutgers. Allen pushed himself to get back on the field the next week in the SEC opener against Texas A&M. He threw three touchdowns against a bad defense but also threw two interceptions in a 45-33 loss.
Things never got better because the reality was that Allen was in significant pain. Most weeks he would practice a little on Wednesday and then play in the game. He would manage the pain as best he could.
“He was basically playing with half an arm but we didn’t let on at the time,” said head coach Bret Bielema.

Arkansas' is also pretty rough:
@ Auburn
@ Texas A&M
@ Miss State
@ Missouri
And while I know this is about away conference games, but if you add the home SEC gms, Arky may have the toughest overall SEC schedule. Then add their OOC gms, and it starts to rival the national picks...
