Joe Kines wasn't that bad, but he could never figure out how to stop that inside trap.

Alabama has been pretty damn solid on defense for as long as I can remember. Though Carl Torbush had a few very bad games in 2001, especially the LSU game. But virtually that same defense was amazing in 2002.

Yeah, I guess Ellis Johnson under Dubose may have been our worse DC since before the Bryant days, but even then we weren't really getting blown out or giving up a whole lot of points consistently.

I've only been watching football for 5 years, so I'll consider that my lifetime, and this certainly ranks up there. Tennessee had the offense to win at least 9 games in 2012, but the defense wouldn't allow it.

Roof`s defenses had it`s moments, second half against Bama in 10, the national championship game and EJ looked to be steadily improving till the second half of the season total collapse..so one of those two. Just frustrating that with both coordinators the ability to tackle continues to be a huge problem and our defensive backs that can`t seem to get grasp simple zone coverage concepts, seems after every long pass play given up they are arguing about who should have been where.

If if was worst offensive coordinator in my lifetime, I'd have to say Scot Loeffler hands down. He destroyed Auburn football and helped Florida's offense regress, and now he's doing the same at Virginia Tech destroying that offense. No clue how that guy is still employed anywhere as a coach. He'd be better off going back to being Tom Brady's personal assistant.

To me it was Lou Tepper under Dinardo! He was asked by a fan how long would it take to implement his defense and he said 5 years. The fan responded you don't have 5 years the way this defense is performing. He was noted for his drop linebacker scheme. He was a total disaster as a DC.
