Not to diminish Bama but OM will not have to be flawless to win. It will be a shootout in Oxford.

I also think Arkansas is the one darkhorse nobody wants to play. They may not have a shot this year because they are 1 more likely 2 from competing for the SEC crown, but you don't want to play Bert and his running game.

Btw anybody know the Over/Under on Bama-Ole Miss? Would be a nice bet if the number is low.

Ah so you think Ole Miss vs LSU and Ole Miss vs Alabama is a somewhat even matchup for Ole Miss?

It's too early to put much stock in computer formulas. They need more data. 90% of what it has right now is limited due to low amount of teams played combined with a high amount of cupcakes played. In a nutshell, those %'s show the early season hype that accompanies teams every single year due to taking on the easy part of schedules. What part of it is offset is done by using last years data - hence an over-rated LSU.

A shootout?

I was thinking the exact opposite. Both teams may have 2 great defenses if Ole Miss holds to it's first 3 games.

Ole Miss is the better team and they have the talent on both sides of the ball to pull the upset if they play their cards right.

Arkansas only beats us if we beat ourselves with turnovers, imo....

You aren't worried about being able to stop the run?

Aggie quit making excuses, if we beat you it will not be because you beat YOURSELF. I have no idea how the game turns out, but should be a good one.

Arkansas by far. That running attack is obscene.

I think we have a slightly better chance to beat aTm. I also think the collective will of the entire Rant pulling for us will help too. Never in my life have I seen fans quite like Texags has worked itself up to this week. Half the posters are bragging about destroying SMU (worst team in FBS) 58-6, while completely writing off our victory over "some directional tech" (NIU which has won more games since 2010 than any team in FBS other than Oregon) 52-14. It is kind of surreal actually. Neither victory means all that much other than both teams can execute and beat lesser conference foes, but victories over Lamar, Rice, and SMU confirm that they are the greatest team ever.

We have improved more than I thought we would this year, expected us to be better but have exceeded how much, mostly on offense.

Still a ways to go on defense.

aTm is rightfully favored, but I feel we have shot. I'd give us a 30% chance this year.

IF OM plays a turnover free game and Bo Wallace doesn't derp, I'd say they have a 40% chance of beating Bama at home this year.

Do they not realize that NIU>>>SMU?

If we stick to the run/play action pass offense we are built to run, even if we get some bad breaks along the way, I think Arkansas makes it a good game with the Aggies and has a shot to win.

If, on the other hand, we panic and go Air Raid the first time we face real adversity, which our OC Jim Chaney has been known to do, the Aggies get to practice their running in the 4th. I say we've got a 1 in 3 chance of beating them.

Ole Miss beat Boise in an ugly game to start the season and has feasted on a schedule that looked tougher then it turned out to be. We have no idea how good this year's Ole Miss team is. They look to be pretty solid but are they good enough to beat the Tide?

Tough to say, we more or less know what the Tide brings to the table this year. We really didn't know how good MSU was until they stunned LSU. We won't know how good Ole Miss is until they play one of the big boys. As of right now I give the Rebs about the same odds as I gave the Hogs, 1 in 3.

Here's a total realistic reply form an Ole Miss fan:

Neither. I think we're a really, really talented team. But the lack of a run game is going to hurt us against physical teams like Bama. However - I don't think Bama's defense is as stifling as years past and certainly not the defensive backfield. Supposedly, our staff has mentioned that us getting gashed BY the run was a scheme thing that they feel like they've fixed...but we will see. There's the possibility that home field advantage and shutting down the Bama pass game - and making them one dimensional can lead to a win, but I'll believe it when I see it.

As for Arky, I just don't think they can keep up with the scoring - see the AU game.

You could make this exact same and highly inaccurate point about State vs LSU. In fact they were even worse off against them than we are against y'all. But please keep up your argogance. It's pretty great.

I think Ole Miss defense will wear down late and lose in a valiant effort. Lack of a run game does the Rebs in.

Arkansas should be able to run for many many yards on A&M, but will they be able to turn yards into points? Will they be able to pass when necessary?
