Yeah I'm football ignorant for saying LSU has as good a shot to win 10+ as AU. Makes sense.

You obviously are. Does LSU even have a QB? I'm not sure you have looked at the schedule either. Last year Auburn went to Ole Miss, Miss. St., UGA, AND bama. All of those games are at our house this year. Add in the fact that the East team is UK, I think the schedule sets up best for Auburn this year.

Boykin is going to put up great numbers and will probably be in the playoffs.

Oklahoma and Texas, and K-State are the only defenses worth mentioning on the schedule. Last year, TCU put up 37, 48, and 41 points respectively against those foes.

Unless Ohio State repeats on the heels of outstanding statistical performance by one (and only one) of their stars, the Heisman is Boykin's to lose.

Whatever QB Ohio St starts.

^^^This...if whomever starts stays healthy the whole year, and doesn't have to share too many snaps, there's a decent chance it won't be close...they could easily run the table with their regular season schedule and their starter will put up good numbers. Boykin would be my next choice if OSU has either injury problems at QB or if they go to a 2-QB system...

Fournette and/or Chubb would have to put up unprecedented numbers to even have a shot. There were a couple of 2,000 yard rushers last year (and Gordon was well over 2K)...while they were invited to the ceremony, neither one was close to winning it. It's a QB's award, especially if they're on a national championship contending team...

Yes, the options are either an unheralded LSU team can far surpass good but not great expectations, or an improved Auburn team can meet its expectations.

I don't think any Auburn fan is going to put the chance of LSU having a better season than Auburn at zero. But people have continually posted the unbiased predictions that Auburn is more likely to be in championship contention than LSU, and you scoffed at it. You being a fan and thinking LSU is underrated is normal. But don't act miffed when people go with the consensus prediction.

It's possible if it's a player from a team that isn't expected to be great, but the odds for Ohio St qb has to be through the roof

If you take Dobbs' stat line in the 6 games he started in last year and you put it over a 13 game season he'd hit throwing and passing thresholds that only Tebow, Newton and Manziel have hit in the last 30 years.

If you take LF's stats from the Notre Dame game, and spread it over the whole season, that one season would secure him a place among the greatest RB in CFB history.

I would least expect an LSU fan to laugh at this possibility. Dak destroyed that vaunted LSU Defense last year.

Well, this was original.

I'm not sure you can read because I've already addressed this.

AU could start 6-0 if they win in Baton Rouge. They then finish:

@ Arkansas
vs. OM
@ aTm
vs. UGA
vs. Idaho
vs. Bama

So they could easily drop 3 or 4 of their last 6. Just like last year.

Are you sure you looked at the schedule?

There it is. So, AU is a lock to improve while LSU, who returns 16 starters and 30+ off the 2 deep is going to remain stagnant?

Lot of LSU bashing in this thread.

Yes, look how many are at home. Sure we can drop 3 or 4, but odds are better we drop 2 to none.

Fournette will not be invited to NYC for the Heisman this year. He's a good RB but has shown nothing in his first year that he will be elite enough to win a Heisman or be in the contention for one. Especially on a team that will not be in contention for the playoffs that has 3+ L's after the Bama game in November.
