As we sift through the ashes of Arkansas football, it makes me feel better to change the subject every once in a while to Gata

Was it Muschamp's temper?

Shark Fricker's debauched sexual trysts with fish and game?

What was the pivotal moment triggering the downfall?

Apparently it is Walt Disney who is at fault.

The UAA fricksticks and the Disney Gators have not only allowed that program to fall to ruin.

THEY DOUBLED DOWN ON THE shite AND HIRED A frickING SUNBELT COACH

AND THEN THEY DIDN'T FIRE HIM AFTER LAST SEASON

I don't know how you frick up the University of Florida Football Program but these frickers actually did it.

I've watched with some distant astonishment, I must admit, as Napier has quietly brought in some very good players despite a trainwreck of a season. He also has made some sneaky good coaching changes. Both are hard to believe given his supposed status as a dead coach walking. Something is still cooking in Gainesville folks.

Now Arkansas, not so much.

The pivotal moment in the demise of Florida football was when the two O-linemen blocked each other.

In all seriousness, I think the shoe toss played a significant role. Florida was #6, on a 6 game win streak (including against UGA) and needed to win for a shot at their first playoff appearance.

Instead, they lost to a 3-5 LSU because of the shoe toss, then lost a 1 possession game to Bama, and got pounded by OU by 35 points in the Cotton Bowl. Went 4-5 the following season before they fired Mullen. OOF.

Arkansas beat Florida in the swamp for the first time ever last year

If anything is cooking in Gainesville it’s the Ponzi scheme being hatched Inside of Chip Howard’s $500 million dollar stadium kitchen !

The actual question is how in the frick did Steve Spurrier make Florida Football anything other than the SEC doormat it always was and is again? The period of success the enjoyed with spurrier and shortly after is the anomaly ...where they are now is where they have always been outside of that brief period in their history. what Spurrier accomplished would be akin to someone doing the same thing at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri or ATM...all of those have a similar history to that of Florida, middle of the pack in the SEC or worse. Florida is not now and has never truly been a power in the SEC other than the 11 years Spurrier was there and the 5 Meyer was there they have played 99 years out of 117 as middle of the pack or worse against their peers. They have a fricking sub .700 all time win % and are .500 in bowl games. Took them over 70 years to win a conference title and 80 to win a national title. They are the 6th or 7th best program in the SEC behind Alabama, LSU, UGA, Tennessee and even Auburn and possibly Ole Miss. If you are in the same boat as Ole Miss and Mississippi State historically and you are where Florida is today it is to be expected, not shocking.
