Today they are showing one baseball game only
Every other window is softball
Pathetic

And I’m guessing the baseball game will be joined in progress when the softball
Game runs over

It’s terrible. To make it even worse… Marty and McGee get a 4 hour window to talk about absolutely nothing.

Not everything is Disney's fault

It's always been this way. Softball is less of a regional sport than college baseball

This is what annoys me the most. They could show so many more athletic events if they didn’t have that shite (Finebaum too).

Got to be low cost of production. The only thing that makes any sense at all. Just don’t see how showing a replay from the night before costs as much. They don’t even show game highlights on M & M most of the time. Awful TV.

However, if you are a huge fan of women’s softball today is your day!

The sad thing about what ESPN has become is that they published this when they gave Marty a $12 million contract:

quote:

Smith has become a jack-of-all-trades in his 15-year ESPN career, jumping seamlessly from the greens of Augusta National to the sidelines of Death Valley to inside the rail in the Derby City.

The brain trust at Mega Media Conglomerate Studios Inc really, genuinely, believes that a single personality can go from cringey Academy Sports commercials, to NASCAR, to Augusta National.

And that he is universally appreciated.

I'm not saying that person can't theoretically exist. Like a modern day Howard Cosell or an edgy Bob Costas.

But that guy absolutely isn't Marty Smith.

Seems as if ESPN knows most all of the SEC are serious about baseball, moreso than any other conference. Putting the men on ESPN+ is a rev grab. IMO.

In what Universe would any sports fan be willing to watch all that college-level sports? College baseball compared to MLB is like the sunrise from the sunset. No way the SEC Network is even an afterthought for me after college football and basketball.
