Unfortunately, the best response would have been, "what's a tight end?"

Cameron actually sat down with Jacory Washington and showed him dozens of plays where the tight end was featured but Mett just missed or didn't even make it to that progression.

Outside of the two hot shot receivers we picked up in this class, we're thin. I wouldn't be surprised to see some 2TE sets.

Engram may put up the best stats but Howard is the best.

I think Washington will have a best career... He's a complete TE that has the hands of a receiver

^^ At least somebody realizes how to spell the guy's name.

I'm imagining the confusion is because we actually had a walk-on QB a couple years ago named Evan Ingram.

In reality, Howard from Bama was the only TE I remember being impressive last year.

Henry had 41 yards and 2 TDs against you...though our QB play didn't help him any

If we can get better QB play he should have a very good year...he has more potential than our last two NFL TEs. Plus Bielema's offense is pretty much an NFL TE factory

And us not having a very proven WR corp will get him a lot of looks

Definitely. Last year, it was Henry + Collins/Williams. That was it.

Yep. He was smothered most of the year because he was our only real receiving threat. If he gets any help on the outside then he should put up the best numbers in the league.

Barring Bama doesn't throw the ball to OJ Howard that much.

Every time I watched Arky last year I that Henry didn't go to UGA and felt bad y'all didn't have a decent QB.

Yep. It was painful at times last year watching Allen. We brought in more athletic WR's in this class. Hopefully between them and having an actual QB competition this spring, we will create a situation that can fully utilize his talents. He needs to be targeted a lot more than he was last season.

That's what most think. I still believe Austin Allen will have a chance as well. I always thought that he was better in high school than Brandon.

Why RS him? I don't get that at all. Surely he was better than Derby?

That's the million dollar question. I think they got far enough in to the year before he learned the offense that they decided to just not burn it. I know he definitely wasn't ready in week 3 to replace Brandon when he got hurt. I saw Austin play a few weeks earlier in a practice scrimmage and he clearly did not have a grasp on the playbook.

Cam Clear from A&M will be a sleeper pick. I think he will be more involved in the passing game with a young QB.Clear was an excellent blocker last season. No more Mike Evans but we'll have Clear and Seals-Jones(Who I believe will line up at inside receiver)

I agree with this. Clear is going to have a big season this year. He--along with the rest of the Aggie receiving corps--are going to be a real pain to defend.

As for Henry, I really do think that Allen was hurt far more than most folks realized last season. Shiuoder separations like he had are a bitch to get over. With improved QB play, Henry should explode.

And with all respect, I'm not sure anyone sees Peavy as the QB next year. True freshmen in the SEC tend to struggle. I'd love to be wrong. Peavey is an exciting player.

I can't see Peavey really being an option at QB. Not as a freshman. If they were okay with true freshman QBs they would have burned Duwop/Austin's redshirt last year.

I think it's going to be one of the Allen's with a special "athletic package" of some sort that will let Duwop get some plays each game.

Just my guess.
