Alabama (SEC) - solid
Notre Dame - still competitive and can draw across USA
USC - solid till early century but still tops out west
Oklahoma - solid
Texas - all hat, few cattle (just really 60's and 70')
Michigan - has been
UGA (SEC) - up there but Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Tennessee have history
Ohio State - only fish in the B1G sea
Tennessee (SEC) - historically solid #2 behind Bama
LSU (SEC) - young bloods but doin work

Viewed another way

Ohio State > Michigan
Alabama > Tennessee > LSU > Georgia
Oklahoma > Utx
USC > West Coast in total

The list seems to be getting shorter

I will make it even more simple

There are only two teams that qualify on any possible list of anything related to the topic

Alabama based on titles alone

Ohio State because they have literally never had a bad season in history. A transition year from tattoo gate that really no one counts is the only not good year. Still a complete tank to a 6 win season

Ohio St has had a future HOF coach every year since the 40s.

AUburn tier 3?....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Once Oklahoma and Texas arrive, Auburn will be middle to lower in the SEC.

Objectively AL and OU are two of the top 3 blue bloods all time. TX is also up there.

The rest of the big 6 SEC teams fall in Tier 3 which is basically the 9-17 ranking pileup, so it really depends on how far down the line you want to go in defining blue blood.

Could just be AL, OU, TX in the new SEC.

Only Bama.

This is definitely an acceptable answer right now.

The Blue Blood term comes about from when their winning ways began; in the 70s when college football was first being televised.

There are 8 Blue Bloods: Bama, Texas, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. We

Ohio State
Alabama
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
USC
Texas
Michigan

I don’t consider NEBRASKA one, but a lot do..

There are no tiers, these are the only ones and there is no getting in.

The fact you have Notre Dame in tier 2 is just crazy.. they are the bluest of bluebloods
