You're point actually makes the most sense. In regards to fan bases I think most people in the state who didn't go to college pull for the bigger in state schools. This is true for most other southern states i've been to. As far as the ULL/LSU relationship, every ULL grad I've met hated LSU. Maybe not LSU grads but the institution and the fact that if they had a good degree (ex: engineering) most people assumed they went to LSU. I don't bash ULL and I hope they make it to Omaha but I'm just not a fan. They have had a pretty good run since 2000 in baseball which has made for some interesting clashes and constitutes a small rivalry.

I went to USL, but have always been a Tiger fan. I won't bash ULL, and hope they both make it to Ohmaha. I also think there are more ULL fans that hate on LSU than the other way around.
