Well, players have been coming through Gus's offensive system into the NFL for longer than that, and his players still don't produce... and I'm going to go ahead and assume he won't be putting many defensive guys into the NFL

I just looked up richt's. From the 02 (following his first season) to '11 drafts (10 season) he had 58 players drafted. It apparently isn't the highest obviously, so I'm very curious to see what bielema's is.

Arkansas fans are all about degrading programs that are above them. At least wait until he wins something of value before you talk shite about coaches who have made or won a NC.

Well that's a stupid comment. He's had defensive players drafted the past 2 years and has recruited very well on defense the past two classes. There are several guys on the defensive side of the ball that are NFL prospects.

Kale Gober ?@TKaleGober Jul 15
DID YOU KNOW: @BretBielema has had more players drafted to @NFL in first 10 years as head coach than anyone in history of college football!!

Bielema > your coach
quote:

I'm certainly not doubting it by any means, but I'd like to see where richt stacks up. He's had quite a few drafted from 01-11.
It's complete bullshite.

Richt did have more players drafted in his first 10 years.

2001 was his first year, so 2002 draft is first elligible.

so 2002-2011 UGA had 58 players drafted LINK

Bielema took over Wisky in the 2006 season, so 2007 draft is his first.

2007-2013 25 players LINK
Arkansas 2014-2015 9 players

34 total players

Richt had 14 more players drafted in his first 10 years as a HC.

ETA: Also, Les Miles has had 44 players drafted his first 10 years between OSU & LSU (2002-2011).

Kale Gober is retarded.

ETA2: Urban Meyer has 35 total drafted players from Utah & UF (had zero at BG). Still more than Bielema.

Kale Gober is retarded.

Yeah Bert is the man. Won 2 games in his first year while Gus went to the BCS NC game in his. I can see why ARkys love fat boy.

Arkys need to learn that all their negative posts about Gus just makes the rest of us realize how much you really wanted him to be head pig.
Now go ahead - "Thou doth protest too much"

I believe they are counting every draftee from Wisconsin 06- present and arky 13-present. It's in the 40's.

So what you're saying is Bielema does less with more and Malzahn does more with less?

Arky is a sad little state -- let them dickride Wisconson all they want. They haven't realized that most folks in WI would never invite them into their house

Joey and I both came up with 58 for richt.

How could there be such a large discrepancy if bielema's is in the 40s?

I wonder if whoever tweeted that just put it out there and didn't check any other coaches

Seeing as your initial quote was Brett as a head coach, that is what I was responding to. But if you want to talk about Malzahn as a head coach and a coordinator with players who went through his system...

After a quick survey of the Wisconsin and Arkansas (while Bert's been coach) list of players in the NFL draft since 2004 (I'm not going back further on Bert - you can if you want), it looks like Bert's had 6 first rounders and the highest was the third pick in ten years.

Just looking at Malzahn's time at AU (as coord and HC) he's had 4 first rounders including a number 2 overall and the number one overall. That's in his 5 years with AU.

You could also make an argument that Malzahn was instrumental in McFadden and Jones getting drafted in the first round since they both had breakout years under Malzahn in 2006.
