Don't think "demise" is the word you're looking for.
It was a really poor attempt at a flame all the way around. Not sure what his angle is either, seems like this came outta nowhere.

LSU might have beat their most talented team with Greene and Pollock in 2003
LSU was lucky they played Tenn in 2007 because I don't think LSU would have beat that UGA team in Atlanta
LSU shut them down again in 2011 in Atlanta
They had a better team than Bama when they lost at the goal line because Richt sucks
I'll go with Saban, he started beating down UGA in Baton Rouge and finished them off with Tide

Mark Richt is culprit number one. Didn't he screw them out of a potential title run in D.J. Shockley's freshmen year because he forced him into playing time when David Greene was having a great year?

I'm not talking crap since you don't know as much about UGA as a UGA fan would...but 03 was FAR from our most talented team. Not even really close actually.

nevermind, you're an idiot

Saban is 2-1 against UGA at LSU and 2-1 against UGA at bama. Don't be fricking dense.

Not really Richt's fault on the goal line. Murray was going for the back shoulder fade to Mitchell in the end zone, it got tipped at the line, and fell right into our receiver's hands at the 5.
I blame Richt for many things but that is not one of them.

I meant 2-1 my bad got to typing too fast.
My point stands though that there are roughly 20 more viable answers to the question.

UGA hasn't had a demise, I think people figured with the explosion of Metro Atlanta and the recruiting talent in state that they'd have more titles by now, but they've had 2-3 years when they were on the cusp.
It isn't like they have been going 7-5.

It's not even worth explaining...it was over 2 years ago and some people are still retarded over it. He probably thinks Richt commanded the team to run out in 07 too.

A sensible post, thanks.
If UGA had been on a several decade romp through every conference just laying waste to people left and right and racking up titles...ok yeah we're in a demise. But from 1984 to 2001 we have been an extremely average team (for a number of reasons). The era that we're in now is actually pretty solid, and if you look at Richt's tenure as a whole it's probably one of (if not the most) successful runs UGA has ever had.

Mark Richt and Vince Dooley are to blame

If anyone is responsible it definitely isn't Auburn. UGA losing to Alabama stymied our national championship in 2012. Losing to Tenn fricked us in 2007. Also I wouldn't call UGA on a "demise."
One could argue our recruiting in the state of Georgia has an impact, if not necessarily in the head to head series of late.

Feel like Auburn has recruited Georgia well for as long as I can remember (back to the early 1980s), right?

I would actually say that FSU and UT recruiting in the 90s was worse for Georgia than whatever Auburn has ever done. Georgia can usually deal with losing guys to AU a little better it seems like.

Yea, Tennessee used to grab 1-2 elite kids from Metro Atlanta every year.

Not an intentional flame. Take it how you will.
Been in GA for 3 years now and am blown away by how much high school talent there is in this state. I know they can't sign them all. One day Dawgs it's inevitable.

To continue with what Crow said. Auburn is always going to come get 2 or 3 a year outta ATL. Bama will as well.
Columbus is pretty much an Auburn town and outside of JJ29 they never really pan out in Athens.
But outside of Columbus it pisses me off to no end when we lose kids from South GA. That should not happen.

Yeah 'demise' is a little strong. Might want to hold off on the demise talk until after our game next season.

I agree. I'm glad we have him so far but the #1 athlete in the nation here in Savannah should be kept in state.
