Oh shite... didn't realize the entire record fell straight on the O. I always thought there were 3 parts to football (4 in my mind tho) offense, defense, special teams, and luck.
Damn, somebody get on the horn with Malz and tell him he let us down in 2009.

Malzahns o? Good luck. You lost 4 offensive lineman, your best wide receiver, and your quarterback.
Will still be about as good as Bama's with McCarron

Did you just throw Chizik under the bus?

And yet we will be back to competing for the SEC West next season. Bama will lose nearly their entire defense to the draft... 2012 will be a damn good Iron Bowl, imo...

I think he's saying while the offense was successful, the defense and special teams were meh, and we didn't get very many breaks

I'm still trying to understand how MSU-Bama was a competitive game last year...
In the SEC West, three or four broken plays is the difference between the Liberty Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. It is also the difference between a beat down and a good game. Unless you are Ole Miss...then the difference is a bit bigger.

Really?
That's what you got?
Not surprised.
I'm sure you threw lil nickanator under the bus for that stellar 7-6 record in 2007. Not to mention that sweet 4 game skid at the end of the year (includes losses to ULM and MSU) before toppling the mighty buffalos.

You are among the few who actually think auburn is going to be a top team in the upcoming season.
I'm in this group also, Auburn will be fine this year. LSU and Auburn have the best shot of beating Bama this year.
is it the Flagship? the Purple Tigers?
The Purple Tigers, although they may be wearing a combination of Purple, Gold and White.
The only 2 Teams with a chance at beating them, but I do believe LSU has the biggest shot at doing it and going all the way this year. They are young at certain posistions on Defense but by the time LSU get's to Bama they will be well seasoned in their rolls. It should be THE game of the Year in the SEC as will be LSU's game with the Ducks in Dallas on the 3rd of September. LSU wins both games they will go to the BCS NCG!

I didn't say yall wouldn't be an ok team, but to think you will win the west is wishful and idiotic, especially when you consider the loss of players on yalls team and and the number of returning starters for others such as bama and lsu.
Just because they are returning starters doesn't mean they are going to light the West on fire this year. I'm just not going to sell our chances short for the season without playing a down of football. I have faith the "Gus" bus is going to run over alot of teams this year.

I think LSU and Ark have a legitimate shot. I think arks D is going to surprise a lot of people this year. Could be wrong but we do have a lot of experience on that side...And our offense will be our offense. The only reason I see it not go our way is our O-line. It will be their 3rd game of the year and inexperience might be our achilles. Heres to hoping for a fast O-line development!
