Story

So yesterday at the Seahawks-49ers game, Seattle broke the Guinness World record for "loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium" with a reading of 131.9 decibels about the same as:

A military jet take-off from aircraft carrier with afterburner at 50 ft (130 dB)
or working with a jackhammer (130 dB)

Pretty impressive but CenturyLink Field is only 67,000 people. 11 SEC stadiums are bigger. So which stadiums do you think would could break this record this year?

Mine in order of capacity:

Bryant-Denny Stadium
Sanford Stadium
Tiger Stadium
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
Jordan-Hare Stadium
Kyle Field

I think those Stadiums have a legit shot at breaking the record, only reason I left off Neyland Stadium is where the program is right now, dont think the fans can get hyped enough.

I've been to Bama, quiet as shite. Pom Poms don't make that much noise.

Jimmies. They will be rustled.

It's a poorly kept secret that Seattle also pipes in noise ala Clemson

Yeah. We tried a few years back. It's just not loud enough at Kyle. Most likely it's due to the structure design.

We're fixing it.

The others probably would easily.

I thought about that about Kyle Field, the way it is open on the ends would make it hard since the sound would escape, but one of our linemen did say in a postgame interview it was the loudest place he had ever played in.

Stadium capacity doesn't necessarily mean a louder crowd. I'll put The Swamp, Tiger Stadium, and A&M above Carolina and Bama's

I wasn't at the game last night to compare, but I don't see how it could physically be possible for a crowd to be louder than it was for mauck to skyler green in 03.

That was when we had true fans and not those pussy, halftime-leaving, "don't stand up and cheer in front of me because I can't see" fans.

TS is still one of the loudest, but a decade ago we were unmatched with crowd noise

Neyland would have a shot when we were good. Late 90's early 2000's

That was definitely a loud roar that would be hard to beat

The game against Bama in 2008 when LSU blocked the FG at the end of regulation to send it to OT was about as loud a single moment as I can remember.

That was the loudest moment of an otherwise "meh" kind of game for noise level.

The loudest roar came when the PA guy announced that the sun had set in the western sky and it was now Saturday night in death valley.
