Funny, yes, but not called for. When you get in to the stadium and your wife and kids are crying and telling you we want to go home you need to go home and not come back. I may go again one day but it will be after Alleva tells everybody to clean it up, Saban has been gone a while and I wont take women and children under any circumstances.

On the rant?? Generally speaking none of the above.
Last year in Tuscaloosa before, during and after the game, I found Bama fans to be the classiest and it isn't even close.
I did not go to Ole Miss last year but I heard good things about their fans.

I've always found Ole Miss fans to be pretty classy. MOST AU fans I've interacted with at games have been classy. Like almost everyone, there have been instances where select individuals were not classy, but that's not the fan base as a whole.
Most UGA fans were cool at the SECCG last year, though there were a few frat douches.
I think Bama and LSU need to drop their various chants. I personally don't think Rammer Jammer projects the class we strive for, and I don't think STTD is appropriate for LSU fans. There are kids who hear both chants and it's not even in the neighborhood of classy to do those chants.

From my personal experiences on campus(home or away)
Best, although very limited were the aggies, then I'd say UT, followed by USCe
Worst in order
Georgia, LSU, UF, Bama, these however dont mean I have not had a good experience with these fan bases though
by far the worst ooc WVU

Every fan base has good and bad. Having been to Baton Rouge I have been spat on and had drinks thrown at me, also been offered drinks and food when Bama beat LSU (which is most often to have happened). Seen Bama fans welcome fans from other schools. Seen Bama fans yell at fans from other schools.

I hate these arguments--there should be a divide between the Alum fans/Sidewalk Fans.
Trashiest Alumni Fanbase Award:The University of Georgia.
It's not even really that close, to be honest. I understand having a playground like Athens at your disposal breeds functional alcoholism better than Race Horse Studs in Lexington, but that doesn't give you the right to bark at 15 year old teenagers when you're 35 with a job, wife, and kids. Grow up.
Trashiest Sidewalk Alum Award: The University of Alabama
This award can really go to any fan base with a bandwagon as big as ours, but for now, we take the cake. I see people in the 3 states I'm most present in (Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi), that I'm certain never went to college, must less UA, sporting, acting, and looking like utter trailer garbage.
Gameday in Tuscaloosa isn't bad at all; most folks you meet are well dressed, well mannered, and a lot of fun to be around. However, if you go to the "throw-away" games, or A-Day, then these fans again come out of the woodwork.
*Notice*--If you take the Finebaum show as anything other than college football satire, as well as base your opinion of ANY fanbase on this show, then you are a certified retard.

Truest statement in this thread. It really does depend on the sport for schools.
The only sport where Arkansas fans could be considered classy is basketball.

Based on experience, LSU is pretty bad. Its hard to enjoy the place when there are fans(alot of women as well) constantly taunting and talking trash.
Classiest: I'd have to say UK and UF, from my experience.

I think any time you're asking this question about such a large group of people, it's really impossible to answer.
I can honestly say I've had fun with all of them- met some very fine people.
No matter who we're talking about, there will always be a few idiots in the midst. Such is life.
Do I want to be judged for the stupid actions of said idiots wearing purple & gold? Obviously not. Likewise- other than a few crude jokes about it on here ()- I'm not going to judge an opponent's entire fan base on the actions of THEIR idiots.

In my experience from an objective perspective and based on my personal interaction at live SEC sporting events with actual SEC fans I have had nothing but good experiences with the fans from various schools sitting around me.
The worst experience was sitting in a group of Georgia fans at a Bulldog football game and the 2 guys in front of me were loud and idiotic. They were still polite to me and eventually passed out right after halftime so they were not terrible. They were well dressed but young fraternity lads who could not hold their liquor. I would chalk that up to weak drinking skills more than being classy.

The vast majority of normal, excited, gung-ho LSU fans who tailgate next to RVs, under huge tents and canopies, and invited fans who wear red, white, orange, maroon, blue, etc to the best tailgating in the world and who civilly discuss football - they like........DON'T EXIST to you ??
There are 100,000+ people on LSU's campus on Saturdays in the fall. You only count the few idiots who embarrass you?
