LSU was not the powerhouse they are now at the time, of course. It was not an easy thing being an LSU fan in the seventies, eighties up to the mid-90's. That is when Curley left LSU, Dinardo came in, Kevin Faulk came and it has been on an upswing since then. It was hit or miss back then more often.

Couldn't have been all that competitive. We can do the year by year.

Since you've been getting grinded on pretty hard, let me also drop another stat on you.

State played almost every game in Baton Rouge until the 70's. State would split gate revenue for those games with LSU. So state made more money playing in BR than in Starkville or Jackson. We did the same with Auburn. We played our "home" games in Birmingham.

Series was 30-41-3 when Bond walked off the field in 83

Is that something to be proud of?

Arkansas and LSU for us. And I am too lazy to look up how many times for each. Arkansas is more than LSU though.

You're not lazy, you're just embarrassed.

Dude, up until 1971 LSU and Tulane had the largest stadiums in the SEC.

A few teams played as many games as possible in Tiger Stadium, they made more money that way.

SEE: Ole Miss, A&M, FSU.

Very interesting. Basically y'all have a good tradition with Arkansas, an okay tradition w/ LSU, and virtually no history with any other team in the conference.

I know A&M is happy to be in the SEC w/ the money and football prestige, but don't you feel a loss at all the history from losing your old games (not just Texas, but whoever else your most commonly played opponents are).

I don't even remember almost scoring 60 last year...just so used to blowing their asses out I guess. It is a good tune up game for conference play though.
