SC has never been close.
SC came closest in 2000, when the East came down to Florida vs Cocks in the Swamp. They actually had a 21-3 lead (IIRC) when Lito Sheppard housed a punt return right before halftime. The Gators never looked back.
Since 1992 the East power teams have been a lot more stable than the West power teams. SC needs at least two of the three to have down years at the same time, then with the right breaks they could upset someone and end up in Atlanta. Ole Miss is in a similar situation - if both those teams can consistently have winning seasons, then they will be in the right place at the right time eventually. It may not be for 10 or 20 years, but it will happen.
UK and Vandy, never.

You always need a little luck to get to the big game.
Unfortunately Ole Miss and SC don't have that.

Grandpa? It's a good quote that many coaches use. Sorry, it's obviously over your head.

So am I. Chill out. And, it wasn't intended to be a backhanded slap at any team. It's a quote I used during my coaching years when players would make excuses about "not being lucky".

Kentucky or Vanderbilt...
Ole Miss has come close.
South Carolina has the talent base, and facilities needed to attract talent, and I think will win the East at some point.
Vanderbilt has at least beaten Tennessee, something Kentucky hasn't done since the early 80s. I would think UK would need to get through them to make it to Atlanta. That being said, they have way too much to overcome.
I'm not convinced UK will ever do any better than what was accomplished under Brooks. They can't seem to beat UT either.

While those players are being pussies to an extent, they are also correct to the same extent
