It's actually not a record. The game was not an officially sanctioned game. Cumberland had already disbanded their football program. The baseball coach got 15 people off campus to suit up.
The only reason Ga Tech didn't agree to cancel the game was because Cumberland embarrassed them in a baseball shutout the year before.
ETA: Don't give the gnats credit where it is not deserved. frick the nerds!
