aTm would, but it'd be worse than the Baylor-Washington bowl game. LSU would, with the final score being determined on whether or not Les Miles F'd something up in the end. Healthy Georgia would be similar to an Oregon-aTm game, healthy Florida would hang for at least 3 but probably lose out due to that crappy offense. I feel like USCe would hang for at least three if Shaw is healthy, because I think Clowney would actually give a crap that game.

So, in short, aTm, LSU, Healthy UGA/FLA, Healthy USCe

You can't call out reading comprehension if you suck at grammar.

Every year around this time, we get the delusional ducks. It's kinda like MSU and preseason. The ducks are great against a team with no push from their front 4. But if you can get some push against their OL, their O sputters and you get the "Hurry up, back to the bench" offense.

Well the problem is your not in SEC, so its all speculation. If Oregon does get to the BCSNC and gets embarrassed by BAMA will this argument finally end?

Reading comprehension is actually one of my stronger suits. For instance, your phrasing implies they would experience TAMU's success. Ergo, the natural conclusion is that "for the most part" means they wouldn't experience quite the level of success. This implies that Oregon would have finished even worse than TAMU. Fourth in the west, then? That would put them about middle-of-the-pack for the SEC in toto.

Also seems about right, but I don't want to keep piling on when Oregon's system has already proven insufficient to beat good SEC teams. It just seems cruel.

Nah if I said "For the most part, Oregon would run through the SEC like A&M did" then that would mean we would almost have the success that the Ags did. This would also be true if I said "Oregon would run through the SEC like A&M did, for the most part". The comma makes the phrase refer to Oregon.

I said "Oregon would run through the SEC like A&M did for the most part". Here it directly implies A&M coming up short where Oregon would not have.

You're an idiot if you think Oregon's defense is comparable to A&M's.

I never once stated or implied it was.

I'm saying that your D doesn't scare anyone, particularly a&m.

Yes and as stated before, I said that the difference is we would come up with more stops. A&M has struggled this year because they can't stop anyone other than Vanderbilt. Not an issue for Oregon. Our defense may not scare you, but it is better than most SEC teams.

Maybe 01' Miami, if they got a few breaks, but I doubt it.

The Duckz are basically the 92' dream team of college football.

Considering Auburn is built to play 4 quarters at a high pace of play, they really are the only team conditioned to do it.

Alabama and LSU probably can stop them early and often enough to win easily. Maybe Mizzou, USCe TAMU could trade punches

Ever. Got. Damn. One of them.

frick you, you shitty, wet, suicide-watch chronic addict.

Oregon truly doesn't know what it's like to play in a conference where every week is a challenge. Your best competition.....Utah.

Don't create thread like this and you will last longer around here. Besides, the SECr is ducksessed at the moment and will create the threads anyway.

Sigh... why is it so hard for SEC fans to accept that Oregon plays good defense...

The simple answer to your question, Washington is the best offense Oregon has played, ranking 17 in offensive efficiency. Compare that to a team like Florida State (who everyone seems to love their defense) who has played no one higher than the #35 offense.

But allow me to rant. I get the hate on Oregon's offense, which does tend to be over-rated. I just don't get the hate on Oregon's D. The last 4 years, here are their F/+ defense rating:

2010 - #6
2011 - #12
2012 - #4
2013 - #8

Ironically, it is Oregon's defensive players that have had more success in the NFL. Despite all the talent that got drafted from the SEC this year, it is an Oregon player (Kiko Alonso) that is the leading candidate for NFL defensive rookie of the year. Oregon has had 6 defensive pro-bowl selections since 2009 (Ngata and Byrd), and mid-season mock pro-bowls suggest Alonso and T.J. Ward (CB) are another 2 Oregon defensive players likely to go Pro-Bowl. And while Dion Jordan is coming back from a torn Labrum, and being used sparingly by Miami this year, he is another Oregon defensive player that big things are expected from.

Almost every starter on Oregon's current defense is a projected draft pick in the next 3 years. Ekpre-Olomu is the #1 CB for the 2014 draft, and Armstead is the #1 DT on a couple sites for the 2016 draft. Additional 2014 draft projections have Hart (DE) as high as the 2nd round, Lokombo (OLB) 4th round, Patterson (FS) 6th round, and Jackson (SS) 7th round. Mitchell, Washington, Malone, and Dargan are all on 2015 draft boards. Hardrick, French, and Buckner (with Armstead) are expected to be drafted in 2016.

I'm not sold that this year's Oregon's defense is better than last year (due to loss of Jordan and Alonso), but it is still extremely talented and easily a top 10 defense.
