Which conference would you say was the best in 2014?

It'a hard to say, really all of them sucked minus a few teams.
American was obviously the worst.
Were the Pac12 and the Big10 better than the SEC this year?
The ACC?

I believe it's still the SEC. The margin has gotten smaller but the SEC is still the best conference.

PAC 12 is certainly making its case.

PAC 12 is 6-1 I think in bowls if UCLA holds it lead.

PAC 12 makes the nest case for being the best in 2014.
They have done well in their bowls and they played some great football all year long. As a football fan I enjoyed watching their games as well.

Even Danny Kanell said this on SVP today. His whole point is that the SEC controls too much of the narrative.
But like SVP and Rusillo were saying, it's taken a decade for the SEC's reputation to develop to what it is. It's going to take more than 2 days of bowl games to just wash it completely away.
That said, the SEC has something to prove next year.

I enjoyed watching them too. I thought they took a hit when Arizona, who finished second in the conf lost to Boise State, but all in all they have been solid in their bowls as a whole.

Opponents the likes of Colorado State, Nebraska, Duke and Boise State (loss) is not exactly impressive.
Oregon beat FSU impressively and UCLA beating KState is pretty good.
The PAC always seems to end up with the most mundane bowl matchups.

They got a lot of easy ones this year for sure, not one bowl game vs the SEC.

It's unfortunate after the bowl reshuffle, we still don't have at least one PAC/SEC Bowl. Surely, we can dump one of the SEC/B1G matchups for an SEC/PAC one.
Aside from LSU and Tennessee taking the PAC on a semi-regular basis, we hardly ever see PAC/SEC matchups.
