Which athletic depts. are a slam dunk to have future success?

Every SEC school is in a sweet money-making position, and each University brings something unique to the Conference. Therefore, each school has a legitimate shot to win some titles. But some schools have a head start by virtue of their overall environment. IMHO, those schools are listed below in order of most favorable environment. The remaining schools must catch up to them. And, being an optimist, I know this is possible.
Texas A&M (Huge endowment from oil and agriculture, local talent is second to none, AAU school, and now a member of the best conference in the land. That, my friend, makes for a lethal brew. I hope I am wrong).
Florida (Huge enrollment and endowment. Again, lots of local talent, AAU school and good tradition).
Alabama (Great tradition, lots of local talent and a huge generous alumni).
LSU (good tradition, huge alumni, lots of local talent, and do not have to share their fan base with any other school in La).
Georgia ( I thought about swapping Georgia and LSU, but this order seems right for now. Georgia is a very large university with a huge alumni, lots of local talent and good tradition. ACC member Georgia Tech cannot compete with Georgia for fans).
By no means is this to suggest a permanent order to things. But it does identify which cars on the track must be passed and why.

I don't think any AD is a "slam dunk". If they were, then they would never struggle.
Each of the programs you have listed have gone through their own virtually recent periods of struggle.
Now what you said in that "some schools have a head start"? Absolutely true and you did a good job listing them.
But I think the term "slam dunk" is a bit misleading.

If we can get football on the right track our athletic department is doing extremely well right now.

The University of Texas agrees with this statement. No sure things in college sports, except for Saban probably.

it's funny how people think A&M is such a lock to become a powerhouse.
yeah they are in the SEC now, but they have had the same resources before they joined and were nothing but mediocre.
they had JFF come out of fricking nowhere and after one season, they are all of a sudden going to be elite? give me a break.

school that had 104k capacity stadium since the 90's. getting tickets on gameday was hard too.
Bama had 70k stadium back then. other big 6 programs about 70k to 80k.

LSU already has 40+ NCAA titles...'future' has been here for a while. Will it continue? Like anything else, it's not written in stone. Hope so.

I hear ya, Latarian. You make a good point. But--and I could be wrong--I think what the OP is asking is which schools have "a head start by virtue of their overall environment" (not which team is a sure thing).
Without a doubt, based on a number of variables, some programs have an inherent advantage. What they do with that "head start" is an entirely different story.

Georgia has all of that, yes, but doesn't spend it like most other AD's. Many Georgia fans are pissed that we don't blow money on trying to keep up with the jones'.

The problem was before we were in the shadow of a school with even more resources (this state has lots of money to go around) and we had trouble differentiating ourselves.

Yeah, even though Bama looks like a cakewalk to run their program they still compete for every recruit they get. Their machine is just so far ahead of everybody else that they make it look like a given.

That could be wisdom that pays big dividends in the future. Some universities blow through money like the National Government.
