I was sitting in Sec 9, head down before the kick, I kept thinking "Damnit, it's going to be another Van Tiffin moment"....I honestly don't remember much after Davis ran past my seats except screaming.

I remember thinking that lots of people must be envious of Bama to get a reaction like this in a Dallas bar.

Sitting at my inlaws saying AU is about to take this back because Bama doesn't have the personnel in to tackle him if it's short.

In the sense that they slowly climbed over the wall and eased past security not knowing if they were going to get tackled. It's like they were tip toeing past a sleeping guard dog. It was quite humorous.
I don't think I've ever had worse seats in a football stadium.

This was the refs deciding on the clock before the field goal.
I told the group behind me, they were going to miss and we were going to run it back. They wanted me to go to georgia and get some lotto tickets after the game
victory beers with the group in my section

I was at home. Before we kicked, I said, "They're going to return this for a touchdown." Turned it off when Davis got to about the 50.

Wow NYC, I was probably 5 rows down and maybe 1 section over from you.
I couldn't get out of the section, just stood there and took it all in and didn't say a word for around 3 hours.
Now I've added it to my memory bank along with Peyton leading the band, Camback and numerous others to fall back to anytime I forget what utter CFB devastation feels like.

Whew, that was a tough one. I was going through some awful things and that was just the cherry on top. After it happened I just laughed and got on with packing up the house I had lived in my entire life because my father died a year prior and we sold it. Then moved to Arizona.
I can only imagine how awesome it was for Auburn fans though.

I was right outside of the stadium at some Auburn friend's tailgate. There were about 4 or 5 Bama people there. After it was all said and done, the tent that everyone was watching the game under had all but collapsed from the madness that ensued. Congratulated my Auburn peeps. I then proceeded to Bourbon Street bar to see my friends' band play. Actually had a pretty fun night there.
I was clearly surprised that the game ended like that, but I wasn't even that upset that it ended like that. I was more upset that we had multiple opportunities there at the end to put the game away, and we just couldn't do it.
After TJ Yeldon ran for what seemed to be the game-clinching first down inside the 5 yard line when we were up a TD, I knew it was over.
Then OJ Howard got called for holding, and then the stupid personal fouls by Christian Jones and the Auburn player all on the same play. If Jones would have just showed some discipline, that PF foul would've offset the holding penalty, but alas he did not. Didn't feel too good about the game after that.

I had just spent Thanksgiving with the fam at our hideaway in north MS. We left Saturday afternoon to head back to our home in Pensacola, knowing that we would miss the game on TV, determined to listen to AU's radio coverage all the way.
When they came back from the break after Yeldon's run and Rod says that Saban was lobbying to have a second put back on the clock, my wife says, "they're gonna kick a game-winning FG now, aren't they?"
I say, well, they're going to try, but we could always block it and run it back for a touchdown, then we'd win. She said, "if that happens, promise me we'll pull off the road and get out of the car and dance around to celebrate."
I'm sure the good folks hanging out that night at Fran's Country Grill on US 29 in Molino FL are convinced to this day that we're fricking nuts

I was in my living room blocking for him the whole way. I must have taken out at least 35 bama players on that one play. I then let out a big "frick you, bama" and the wife quickly reminded me that the grandbabies were in the house. I was concerned about my language for about one second.

yeah, that game and the UGA game took about 1hr to get out of stadium
afterwards Charles Barkey was yelling cheers up the street, stopped outside my tailgate to finish one, took a beer, chugged a few and threw it in the air, with a rick flair, whew!!

Well, I was watching it, after he got passed Cody Mandell (who was holding for the kick), I just stood up and walked out the door of the place I was watching it. Went home, ate dinner, and watched a movie.
That was pretty much it, was what it was.

In Topeka at a Buffalo Wild Wings after the Kansas 6A State Championship. I was the only one watching football in there with an Alabama hat on. There were a ton of KU fans there waiting on a basketball game to start when what seemed like all of the TVs in the building switched to the Iron Bowl right as they were getting ready to line up for the kick. After the return, a ton of KU fans became instant experts in major college football and decided they needed to tell me about it. I couldn't get out of there quick enough. Longest 2 hour drive back to Wichita in my life...

I was in the student section and saw Davis in the end zone before the kick. Jokingly I told everybody I was with that it would be totally Auburn to run it back from the end zone for the win. Everybody around me was like holy shite how'd you guess that. I thought I was dreaming.

surprisingly I dont think people grasped how bad the kicking game was, despite the evidence.
