And no one can deny that our defense is good. It's not great, but we have a good defense

Ranked 64th in total defense and tied for 101st in rushing defense. So...right in the middle for total, and near the bottom in rushing. I suppose "good" is a relative term.

Passing yards allowed (29th) is pretty good though...so maybe that's what you're talking about.

Easily explained by the rushing numbers.

Compared to the last two years, Chavis has done wonders.

Y'all allowed OM to run for nearly 250 yards. Are you aware of just how difficult that is to pull off? You defense is not good. In fact, it's close to being in the suck range.

For perspective, reflect on how many rushing yards Memphis allowed vs Ole Miss. They replaced 8 starters and 11 guys total from last year, and have struggled stopping anyone they've played. Not pretty.

TX A&M Defense has improved substantially from last year. Just how it is and it is all because of Chavis.

But, you all knew that would happen. There was talent to work with, but no decent coaching. Chavis's system is pretty effective and easy to implement.

Again, the true standard of improvement will be between year 1 and 2.

Now, I will troll on the Aggies' posters asking why any 4* or 5* QB/WR would commit to LSU. Especially, when I can do the old FIFY:

"Why would any 4* or 5* QB commit to TX A&M?"

Y'all are good for about 11 games per QB since Manziel left. I just wonder if the Aggies will finish a season with the same QB who started? Talk about QB development.

I find it funny that A&M fans are loving what Chavis has brought to the defense.

They averaged exactly the same amount of sacks/game in the SEC this past season and so far this current season (1.5/game).

They gave up 271.5 ypg on the ground last year in SEC play, and improved to a whopping 229.0 ypg this year.

In passing defense they improved from 238 ypg in conference to 203.5 ypg.

He's improved PPG, but they've faced one legit offense to date. Their defense is still mediocre to bad, which is what is funny.

They are basically the collegiate equivalent of the Cleveland Browns in stopping the run. That is a travesty.

Sounds like genuine improvement.

sounds like an average defense to me. Sucks to have a gambling fire water drinking dc that can't pull his weight.
