Ole Miss would have beat Syracuse by 3 TD's in 1959. So would LSU.

Seriously, it was clever the first two or three times the joke was made. The two thousand fricksticks who have subsequently said it have basically admitted to being an unoriginal hack.
What about that 03 SEC West Championship?

Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't change the fact that they were voted #1 in both polls.

but how is a title in the 50's worse than one from the 80's?
The 80s had their share of paper champions. Penn State was awarded the 1982 national title over a more deserving SMU team with a better record. And BYU over Washington in 1984 is one of the biggest national championship farces ever.

Ole Miss' most legit claim is 1960. Ole Miss' 1960 national title is deemed legitimate by the NCAA fwiw, as they finished #1 in the Football Writers Association of America poll, which is recognized by the NCAA. They finished 9-0-1 but Minnesota finished #1 in the AP and UPI polls by going 8-1. That's kinda messed up. Then Ole Miss won their bowl game and Minnesota lost making the records looks even more different at 10-0-1 and 8-2.
If you get this, then we get 41'.

The FWAA is extremely reputable and was considered on the same level as the UPI for a long time. ANY school that has won a FWAA title claims it.
That one is completely fine, imo.

Miss State 1941 and Ole Miss 1960 isn't even remotely close to the same.

I almost got in a fight about their NC's in the stands in Oxford. I think their fans really do believe they are legit...

The FWAA poll winner goes in the NCAA record book as a national champion, so you can hate it all you want, but Ole Miss won a share of the national championship in 1960.

It's funny that you would say this in the very same thread in which Rebel fans readily admit that their NC claims are suspect. But, whatever, we're all delusional fricks. At least we do our homework.

Was it about NC's or getting beat in Oxford that made you want to fight?
