I'd say the hook is showing but that'd be false... No hook needed when you're fishing with TNT.

Except the fact that Richt has a full 10 points higher winning percentage, more SEC titles, more division titles, the same amount of COY awards, more top 10 finishes, and a 5-3 head to head against tubs
But other than those pesky facts they are virtually identical.

not really that funny...
not that much of a difference in accomplishments... you say all that but MR never had an undefeated season... so...
not saying that TT is better because he isnt imo
im saying the margin of diff is small

I'll agree that the margin isn't huge, but it's undeniable. The winning percentage tells a lot. Winning both his division and the conference more tells some and the head to head record favoring Richt by 2 games is telling.
Tubs is a good coach and the gap isn't enormous, but Richt undeniably has a better record.

Except that richt has better numbers virtually across the board. The only thing tubs has that richt doesn't is an undefeated season, which means jack squat. All that got tubs was an SEC title (which he has less than richt) and a #2 finish (Richt has one of those too).

It's more fun to argue though.

Part of Tubs era in the SEC was at OM so you have to give him double points for wins he got there.

not sure if you know how winning percentages work. Nothing gets "doubled". But I do agree we should add his division and conference titles won at ole miss to the resume.

In the "Underachiever" category.

V Dooley was much worse than Spurrier and Meyer.
Much worse is an exaggeration, but he is a step below those two. If Vince were a truly GREAT coach, we would have been 33-0 while Herschel was here with 3 straight national titles.

Not much of a diff imo
True it isn't a massive gap, but Tubs rank here has more to do with him not giving Tubs enough credit than anything to do with Richt.

Not much we coulda done against clemson in 81, they had an answer for herschel. Not dooley's fault we gave up a marino hail mary in the sugar bowl, and even if we had won that game clemson was undefeated. And not dooley's fault we let todd gayledge throw another hail mary on us.
With that said, dooley is overrated IMO.

Those are exactly my points. A truly great coach wouldn't have been in most of those positions and would have had an answer for Clemson too.

If the categories were to be better described as Streep, K. Hepburn, A. Hepburn, Taylor, and Hunt, I think he would be clearly a Hunt.

I wouldn't dispute this, although Richt having a major state largely to himself (in theory) should help.
Auburn competing at UGA's level will always mean edge to Auburn. Just how it is when you're overmatched and still competing/winning.
