Who is Arkansas' true rival? Texas is the only team I can think of.

Texas was our true rival, even though we were only one of their many rivals.

Some have always considered Ole Miss a rival, but most are older fans who remember the big games in the 50-60's.

You go to hell.

Ole Miss is a rival.

The hate is real.

quote:

This game was maybe the most hyped affair ever to date in the South as #1 LSU
would go against #4 Ole Miss. Airplanes flew the LSU campus for days before the
game dumping thousands of leaflets that simply said "Go To Hell LSU Go To Hell".
Here's a real controversial area. Some say that LSU countered by flooding our
campus with "Go To Hell Ole Miss Go To Hell" leaflets in response. Some say that
Dietzel had the leaflets dropped on the LSU campus in a real smart attempt to
fire up his troops and Vaught seeing this ploy countered by dropping the
leaflets on our campus so that the LSU boys would have no psycological edge on
our boys.
This game was a huge one in many respects. It was the 1st sellout of Tiger
St adium in history. Acco rding to Ron Higgins, an LSU alum and sports writer for
the Memphis Commercial Appeal, it was the birth of the "Go to Hell--Go To Hell"
cheer with both fanbases hurling it at each other frequently during the game.
This cheer became the standard cheer heard in the stadium for years and years
between these two schools and would later be copied by many others. And finally,
of course, it would be the 1st game played between Ole Miss and LSU that might
very well determine which team would win a NC.

Texas A&M did it to us: 27-0 1956 College Station. Did it to em: 28-0 1984 Fayetteville.
LSU did it to us: 28-0 1995 Baton Rouge. Did it to em: 17-0 2014 Fayetteville.
Ole Miss did it to us: 19-0 1993 Jackson, MS. Did it to em: 30-0 2014 Fayetteville
Texas did it to us: 17-0 1957 Fayetteville. Did it to em: 6-0 1936 Little Rock
Mizzou did it to us: 11-0 1906 Columbia Did it to em: Never.
We did beat Mizzou 28-3 this year and beat Texas 31-7 last year so I guess that makes up for our shutout deficit.

Arky just did it in 2014

Bama isn't our rival so 1/9/12 doesn't count.

We don't have a rival outside of maybe Tulane. We just have conference and OOC opponents

Or perhaps it's a thread where all teams compare stats and analyze them. Ya know, message board type stuff.

Imagine that

We shut out Alabama in 1997,but their not our rival.

I don't remember that one.

Our shutouts of L5U are legendary. Errbody remembers those.

But still not a rival.

Ole Miss did it to us in 2008, 45-0. Good thing is it got Sly Croom fired. We did it to them in 1996, 17-0.

This may be hard for you to comprehend, but not every post on here is a shot at LSU. Some of us don't have a grudge against LSU or their fans.

As in every rival thread, most of the thread is made up of "We don't have rivals" try hards.
