I cant even hate SC. I really can't. Nothing about them screams hatred. This was the best run in their programs history and we still won the east 2 out of 3 yrs they beat us and the other was without AJ Green. The only loss that really stings is '07.
Point blank, it's Spurrier. I was born in '88, so it's always been about Spurrier and always will be until he retires. The man beats UGA and it's his main goal every year, no matter the school. I doubt the fricker would have even taken the SC job if
it didn't mean an annual game with UGA.
Once he's gone (2014?), it's over for SC for at least a decade. I'm glad they got to enjoy a nice run...but honestly, no recent loss to SC prevented us from accomplishing any of our goals. We just didn't take care of Bama this year.
Except for '07, that was the most miserable I've ever felt walking out of a UGA game. And it killed us that year.
Enjoy it SC, it's all cyclical and its a long, hard fall

Nope. They're slated to win in 2087, but I have word from high command that the atomic holocaust is set to destroy the world in 2077, so no dice.

It's funny because we used to say "wait until next year" a lot. Now it's Georgia's motto. It's not like they've even done much better than us. If we win the East next year (Mind you I said if) both will have won the East twice the past 4 years. Difference is we'll have a 4 win streak on the mutts.
Georgia fans are becoming almost as bad as Clemson fans. With similar results too. But hey, they were almost SEC champions. That's good for a banner or two, right?

Aight, fair enough.

The reality is UGA will NOT beat us next year. They will be missing too many players on defense. We are playing them early in the season, odds are they will have 3 starters suspended. If Murray leaves too then they're really f**ked, and we've proven we can win in Athens with Spurrier (2 of the last 3 games there).
The following year they are coming back to Columbia. We won't have Shaw, but Thompson will be there as well as 2 other good QB's (Nosovitch was a Parade All American and Mitch was ranked top 15 this year.) Clowney will be gone, but his replacement, English, was a GA Def Player of the year 2 years ago and will have had time to learn the system. Most importantly this game is in Columbia, Sandstorm will hypnotize the dawgs and who knows if Richt will even be there.
The year after that, it's more up in the air and it's about who recruits/out-coaches/out-plays who.

That's funny, just a few years ago Bama lost 6 (?) straight to your biggest rival. If I had to make a prediction for next year, I would say SCAR gets the W b/c they have the best player in CF. A player we can't match up against.
But I see what this thread was about, slow day at the trailer park

I know we are like UGA's 8th or 9th most important rival, but it seems that UGA fans get more bent out of shape about shite talk regarding us than any other team. Why is that?

I'd say our history is a bit different from UGAs.

That's just your perception. Don't let a message board skew your ability to think.
But if you want my opinion, okay. I live South of Charlotte, Fort Mill to be exact. It's an easy 50/50 split between SCAR and Clemson fans.
Clemson fans have always been cordial, considering we are in different conferences and they don't have the greatest record against the Dawgs. Not to mention, win or lose, they still show their pride (car flags, magnets, etc.). I respect that the most.
SCAR fans are for the most part great. But then there are the fans that ruin it for everyone. Example, a few weeks ago a trashy old SCAR redneck heckles me in a Harris Teeter for wearing a UGA hoodie. Would have been funny if it weren't for my 4 year old cousin I had with me. During the arse whopping in Cola this year, some dumbass slashed my tires and broke all of my windows. And my last point, when SCAR loses, the flags and magnets tend to disappear. I despise that, but realize there are tons of sidewalk fans in the SEC. So I am getting use to it.
In the end, I still hate Florida, Tech and Auburn more, but at this rate the gap could close.

I seriously, seriously doubt that happened. But, if it did, it's easy enough to trace. I've got a friend in Richland County who can go back and pull-up all the blotter reports for that weekend. I'll do that today - it only takes him a second. Matter of fact I'll call him right now and ask him if anything like that happened in Richland County the weekend of the ballgame this season.

Fort Mill has more Ohio State and Michigan fans than Carolina or Clemson combined. I don't even consider that part of South Carolina. Secondly, about getting your tires slashed and all, everyone has heard that story before and all you have to do is insert "team A" into that equation and its "happened to all of us." Also, please don't compare us to Clemson, or our fans to Clemson fans. We are nothing like them, and I think your hatred towards us has skewed your ability to see our flags, magnets, etc during football season. Either that, or the Yankees that have taken over Fort Mill have.

This stretch has been all about the unfortunate timing for SC IMO. They really could have squashed Richt and the program for a few years with these wins, especially since the faith in Richt was diminishing throughout the fan base--it seemed like good timing for them.
But Grantham turned out to be legit, As did Jarvis Jones. Ogletree switched positions. And we had the fortune of our weaker years of SEC schedule rotations just as SC was having a difficult draw. Thus, we won the East twice and flirted with a national championship way heavier than SC ever has.
You and I both know SC has impressively won 3 in a row and 4 of 6 with 2 of those wins ('10, '12) coming in convincing/dominant fashion.
But the perception is UGA is still a step ahead. Recruits see UGA in SECCG. Recruits see UGA bring talked about in the MNC picture late in the year along with Bama. The fan base is temporarily pacified. The program stabilized and appears to be ascending again.
Without those two "banners" Richt would be doing mission work in Ghana and who knows what jack off we would have hired? Kiffin? Dooley? Chizik? Jones? Malzahn?
It could have been a depressing decade for UGA football.
