What are the immediate expectations for a new coach and how long does he have to win the playoffs?

If he comes out slow because of a new system will lsu Gans give him time?

Well based on the rant, they all agree upon 8-4 being realistic in August, but when it finally happens they are ready to fire everyone.

I think for an early coach, it's more about how you lose. If you are competitive in your losses people can be more patient.

Does Gans post on this site?

If so, ask him.

LSU will be OK. Don't lose so much sleep over it.

He will be fired after 4 years of 8-4 ceilings. Their next coach will get 5 years. Fired again after 9-3 ceilings.

He gets more than one year, but if we still suck in year 2 he will be fired. However we won't have to worry about that cause either Jimbo or Herman will be able to compete for a national title by year 2 , if not year 1.

Our expectations are higher than Tennessee, Arkansas, and A&M, so if our new coach starts off like their current coaches then they will be fired before they see success.

They are too talented to be bad but I wouldn't expect a national title right off the bat or anything.

It takes any coach a few years to implement their true system. I'd like 10 wins a year in three years.
