Recruiting isn't a good enough reason.

I really don't think we'd start losing LR area recruits by pulling 2 games out of Little Rock.

Afterall, they sign up to attend school in Fayetteville for 4-5 years.

You pro WMS people act like Fayetteville is in Colorado. Its 3 hours away on an interstate. Its a great town in a metro of nearly 500k people now.

Eventually we won't play any games in LR. I expect we will pull the SEC games first.

2014 is when the contract ends IIRC, and we may have a stadium expansion underway by then.

If RRS goes to 80k, which is the next logical step, it will make even less sense to play in WMS.

WMS isn't expanding anytime soon.

This, of course, has nothing to do with the fact that Arkansas had played in his hometown since the day he was born.

there's an amazing invention called television

if I remember right, Darren said the first game he went to was when he played

It's not about which area is more important for ME. It's about what Petrino feels is more important, which would be Texas, Louisiana, Florida, etc. Look at how many LR guys we have committed right now. NONE.

And if this happens, it will be what kills the University of Arkansas' domination in the state.

Look at how many LR guys we have playing right now. ALOT. Texas is also very important, but it's not exactly a specific area, it's the whole state. How many guys do we have Florida? It will never be as important as LR, and again, Florida is not a specific area, it is an entire state.

The Sec actually requires us to play a couple of home games in the south each year.... lol

Wms isnt anymore of a shithole than Tiger stadium Its just half the size.

I cant see adding seats to RRS when they would stay empty most Saturdays. That money will be better spent on the other Football facilities.

These are the same people who said if we fired Nutt we'd got back to the days of Jack Crowe.

I ain't skeered of playing all our games in a great stadium on campus.

Not those. But for someone in South or East Arkansas... Fayetteville is a long ways away. Not much of an advantage over Baton Rouge.

Anyways F the GSD. No one's opinion is going to be changed. Let's just be happy we have 10 wins right now and are ranked #7.

I'm going to hold out for even more...which could be aided by being able to host recruits at amazing games such as the one we played yesterday.

Players from within the state will leave. We STILL play games in LR. Michael Dyer went to Auburn. We play in LR AND Fayetteville, Frazier's going to Auburn. You can't dictate the financial well-being and logically superior direction of the program on some rampant lie such as the one perpetrated by the lazy contingent of our "fans."

Of course you will have some players leave no matter what. But playing games in LR definetly helps, IMO.

Look, I live in LR, but I don't want the games in LR for my benefit. I love going to games in Fayetteville and the Rock. It's not a far drive for someone in Central Arkansas, maybe a good distance for someone in South AR, but thats not the point. I want games in LR because it's always a great atmosphere, we have played great there traditionally, and it helps recruiting in LR, which IMO, is the most important area for us to recruit. Look at DJ Williams, Joe Adams, Jake Bequette. All impact players from Little Rock. These guys have talked about how much they look forward to going back home to play a game. Adams' recruitment was extremely close between USC and AR, don't tell me games in LR didn't play a part in his decision.

I would think that a recruit would be way more impressed seeing a state of the art stadium that seats 72,000, huge arse jumbotron, the Arkansas campus etc...than watching a game in that shithole dump that seats 50,000 in Little Rock....if not, there's something wrong....

Who are the biggest donors? Walmart and JJones or the big wigs in Little Rock? I know if i was some rich muthahfrickah who had a suite in Fayetteville, I'd be pretty pissed that I'd have to go to Little Rock to see the LSU game....in that dump.

Makes no sense.

I don't know, but it didn't seem to affect their team very much when they played us Saturday....
