On cfbstats you have to go by team, then sacks allowed, then game logg...but past 2008 I have no clue

There was one game against Florida where they sacked our QB 13 times. I can't remember what year it was or who our QB was. I've mentally blocked it.

Unless I'm missing something that doesn't give me what I am looking for. If you go to Sacks, at the bottom of the chart it gives you opponent sacks over the whole season, but once you go to game log, that is sacks *for* your defense, not sacks given up by your offense.

I enjoyed every second of that Fiesta Bowl.
That was a good ol' country-fried arse kicking.

it was 9 sacks on Dak but it felt like 15. On one of them i think it was Jonathan Allenjumped clear over the guard into Dak. That 2015 bama defense was nasty that game. I mean we weren't great but until Auburn the other night I haven't seen a defense get after a QB like they did.

Lol Auburn used to beat their chest so much about "honk if you sacked Brodie Croyle

To their credit, that was a hilarious bumper sticker. Gotta give credit where it's due.

But it wasnt sacks, it was interceptions all thrown in the second half. Great coach the hallman was.

Stidham didn't actually take 11 total sacks. 3-4 were because he ran to the sideline while being flushed out the pocket and another was a wrongly called intentional grounding penalty.

In 2005 Brodie Croyle (Bama QB) took 11 full complete sacks.

uh, yes, by definition he did. That is what "stats" are.

So, would it have been better to stay in the pocket and get taken to the ground?

The 1995 Nebraska team did not give up one sack all season. I know they didn't throw much, but it is still a remarkable record that can never be broken?

Not sure it will never be broken, but it is an amazing stat, especially since they actually did throw quite a bit more than people think. They averaged 20 passes a game.

True, but you would think the qb would be tackled for a loss at least once. I mean you know they are running and you come in with a run blitz

TFL and sacks are separate stats. If QB is judged to be running and is tackled behind the line, it will officially be a TFL. If judged to be passing, it is sack. Understanding that it may sometimes be subjective trying to determine if a certain play was intended to be a forward pass or a run.

Nebraska had no sacks allowed in 1995, but I'd be surprised if they had no TFLs allowed.

In CFB, I'm not certain who the ultimate authority is to rule on the NCAA stat. In the NFL, I know the initial stats are determined by guys in the press box but not "official" until the Elias Sports Bureau verifies them.

While trying to find Bama's most sacks allowed in a single game. I did read that it wasn't a collected stat until 2005, so who knows what the true # is.

TCU owns records for most sacks in a game at 15.

it SEEMED like Alabama sacked Mettenberger 11 times in the 4th quarter alone in 2013. Not sure how many the Tide actually recorded but that poor guy was just getting destroyed late in that game.
