This is not a knock on State. For me if Uga wins, I will feel good but it's not like if we beat Florida,Tennessee ,or Auburn. If State wins, I think it's a much bigger deal for their fans. Back to back wins over big 6 teams. I would not blame them at all for poking their chest out. The mindset is Uga should be State even though this is an extremely close matchup

Honestly, the SEC, as a whole, would benefit more from Georgia winning than State. The SEC badly needs to the east to look good and have some semblance of a true threat to Alabama, like in 2012. Georgia being a top 5 team by the end of the year does wonders for the conference's image as a whole.

I fully expect State to win the game. UGA is rising, but their QB situation against a tough SEC defense gives me pause. I think MSU will be able to put the game in his hands. If he's good enough to win it, props to him.

All I know is whomever wins, that fan base will certainly come here beating their chests collectively with talks of Atlanta in December

Probably true. I know I won't, even with a win... It's early yet. Let's see how we look by the time the WLOCP rolls around and then we can talk. I've seen us off to a "hot start" before...

If everything started turning up UGA, when would you feel confident about a shot at the title?

That's the despair of the West. Until you see Bama drop a couple there's no sense in even dreaming of Atlanta. Ole Miss had the best shot and what happened? Effing 4th and 25

I bet you’d like that wouldn’t you. You beat LSU, congrats. But don’t assume that means you’ll beat the other big 6 teams on your schedule based off that one game. Earn it, and if it happens then run your mouth and bang your gay bells.

I mean the reality is, no one should feel super confident about a shot at the "title" (meaning SECC) unless Bama shows some serious chink in their armor. They've been recruiting at an incredible level and Saban is Saban.

In terms of a shot at the East, given our Achilles' Heel against UF... no matter how bad they look this season, I'd need to see us in good position after that game to feel good... we'll still have 3 more SEC games ahead, but should tell us a lot about whether this team has the nuts to try and do something in Atlanta of consequence or whether we have to back our way in as has been tradition the last several years for the East champions.
