You mean the same Alabama that was God awful before Saban getting there? Yeah okay

That's good news for Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and every SEC schools fans. But here's the bad news...it won't last...it never has!
That is true, no doubt. It's similar with other big 6 programs as well, relative to their successful stretches.

This is revisionist history brought about by wishful projection onto future circumstances.
Even without Saban's tenure, Alabama still has more SEC titles than any other school in this conference (by a lot) and more national titles than any other school in this conference (by a lot).
Mike freaking DuBose, Mike Shula, and Dennis Franchione all had 10 win seasons while at Bama. So did Bill Curry. So did Ray Perkins. We know Stallings had multiple 10+ win seasons, an SEC title, and a National Title.
Every coach at Bama from Bear Bryant through Nick Saban has had at least one 10 win season in his tenure. Even our horrible arse coaches have shown Bama can be successful.
You assume after Saban retires that Bama will hire some slack jaw coach. There is no good ole boy who use to play for Bear as AD. Byrne is widely considered one of the top ADs in the country. He'll make the hire and it will either be Dabo or some other top level coach who wants to make $6M+ to coach a roster that will be stacked with Saban players.
Bama will manage to still be a top 10 program in the country. Appreciate your interest in the program.

Alabama fans don't need to dickride anyone's success against the aubbies or anyone else..

Meanwhile. .is the Vandy vs Auburn series still tied or are the Commodore's one game ahead?

Not my post you are responding to, but I'd guess the guy was just mad and was flailing. UGA is 8-2 against AU last 10 years (Cam & Prayer at Jordan Hare being the losses). Bama is 7-3 against AU the last 10 years (Saban's 1st year, Cam, Kick 6). The poster is right that Bama doesn't have to dickride UGA. He should've just brought up Bama's own 7-3 record against AU the last 10 years.

I get the feeling you are near, or maybe over, 60. I want to make sure to be respectful and, honestly, what college a person went to/pulls for is of no real consequence to how well 2 people should be able to get along. That said, am I right about your age, and is part of the reason you hate Bama so much b/c of your personal experience with some Bama fans in the 70's?

While I agree that some Bama fans were pretty insufferable during the Bryant era (just as some are now), I've never 'hated' Bama. I was probably a good bit more emotionally involved back in my hot-blooded youth (thank God there were no message boards back then) but today I have a good deal more perspective - unlike, apparently, the OP.
I generally get along with everyone, regardless of their religious persuasion, political opinions, and certainly something as inconsequential as favorite sports teams - and yes, my current boss went to Bama the same time as I was at AU, so needless to say we've had some fun these past 8 years or so...
I don't take anything here particularly seriously - just a fun diversion to occupy my time when I'm supposed to be working...
